really..

he was.

here's the lyrics from an old song from D.O.A. and Jello Biafra... I loved as a younglin'
woke me up to alot of things.. back in the 80's early 90's
puts alot of things into perspective here...

part 1 in my Jello Was Right series..

Jesus was a terrorist
Enemy of the state
That's what the Romans labeled him
So he was put to death
He died for his beliefs
What's changed today?

Today bible-thumping cannibals
Reap money from his name
Buy cable networks & power
With old ladies' checks
If jesus saw pat robertson
What do you think he'd say?

Tax-free they re-write our laws
And sick 'em on you
Women don't control their bodies
TV preachers do
Censor everything from bathing suits
To science books

From the schoolroom to the bedroom
They want our thoughts - or else

They treat us like the Romans
Used to treat the Christians
Even some church going folks are scared

Modern catacombs of fear
Built with money, power and threats
Rock'n'roll is labeled porn
Sell a record, you're under arrest

Instead of fighting aids
They try to stop us having sex
They brag that they won't quit
Till they take dominion over our lives

Is freedom of speech such a terrorist act?
Is spiritual peace such a satanic threat?
Believe what you want
But we'll fight to keep
Our heads are being cemented in your sand.
AH!

this is the song.. but the video the guy made to it is kind of cheesy..
hey.. it's the only one on youtube...
so don't watch the freaking video just listen to the tune and read the lyrics..
and dont come complaining to me about anything dumb about the vid.. it's the song.. and its easily accessible on youtube. and i didn't make the video it's just the only version of the song there.

and it's punk rock.. so if you don't dig REAL punk then dont worry about listening.. just check out the lyrics...

enjoy.

you really got to hand it to the man-imal that is "us"...

we take the most pure and beautiful aspects of existence and slam it up to a post and spit on it...

then in it's name .... slam others up to the post and spit on them..

all the while.. completely missing the point the person was trying to make...

just like rebellious "punk" took off and said what it wanted to say..
then the aristocracy money gobblers got ahold of it and made it "fashionable"...
the same happened with the holy teachings of the messengers...

I encourage you all to study what Christ and Krishna and Moses and Buddha really taught before their aristocracies of their time got ahold of their teachings...

thanks for your time.

Do you believe in coincedences? I do. I woke up today and remembered last nights dream. In the dream I read a thread on this site about religion that began to change the way I look at it and actually started to answer the questions I have. I believe the thread was this one. I will take a look at the links.

Many thanks Prevenge

Jello speaks the truth, man. I'm not a huge fan of the Dead Kennedy's (it's all a bit too harsh for me!) but his lyrics and political stances are always totally spot on.

Those are some amazing lyrics

Cant really say as much for the song itself though
Not my style

Funny how when using his name can become profitable they go 180 and deify him.

100% agreed on all counts.

I find it the height of hypocrisy that we do everything in Jesus's name and on the flip side forget that the Romans considered him the Most Dangerous Man alive for his time.

I like that, I know that if jesus was real he wasnt white. I cant listen to the song but the judging by the lyrics i can tell it would be good.

From the title of this thread forward, it sounds like the participants are already judging Jesus. That being the case, judge also the following:

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." - John 13:34

"But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you," - Matthew 5:44

Are these the words of a terrorist?

Think you missed the point. The point isn't that Jesus really is one, but rather that he would labeled as one because he wouldn't go along with the powers and politics of this world anymore than he did 2000 years ago.

All the things people do in his name, aren't actually things he would do.

The song implies that Jesus wasn't a terrorist but Christians are today. If Christians follow the words as I've quoted, how could they be terrorists? Or is this part of the irony as well that in fact Christians are not terrorists...but this is not what the song implies.

Today bible-thumping cannibals
Reap money from his name

Seriously? It's another device used for division.

Hmm... What about these words?

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." - Matthew 10:34-37

Christ says through belief in him families will be divided. Do you believe this is untrue? Indeed there is variance, but it does not mean love disappears.

And? This is consitent with the quote right before mine that says:

"Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'" - Matthew 22:37

From the same book, reading the whole thing helps gain full perspective.

Very Valid points you bring up.

In his time he was considered a terrorist.

Now he is praised.

I wonder how Osama bin Laden will be looked upon in 2000 years?

Wow...
So not to sound like a prick, but you come into this thread and dont even read it, solely to defend Jesus who wasnt being attacked... Then try to make it seem like the people in here are grouping all Christians together? I for one am a wholehearted supporter of his Way and I agree that the parallels to turning allies to terrorists/terrorists to allies to promote an agenda is apt.

Do you not agree that there are religious bigots profiting off his name? Because that is what I see at church. I stopped going long ago. You dont need to give money to be a good person.

saint...this sad dichotomy has nothing to do with this thread.

Please...grab your soap box and hit the streets - at least you have a chance of 'reaching' someone out there.
