Helicopters over my house late at night.

hey. i always go to sleep late and tonight i heard a deep, DEEP rumble. i thought it was a big truck or two so i looked out the window. i looked around, didnt see a truck but saw about five to six helicopters flying low over my town. im just wondering what they are doing. we never have helicopters around here. these helicopters were black and had one rotor on top and a tail rotor. this also happend about three nights ago, exept instead of helicopters, they were jets. and there were about 8 or so. it woke up just about everyone that i know. weird...

Did you notice anything odd in the center of the helicopters? or anything other than the helicopters?

where do you live? how near is it to any military bases?

Could be the DEA...but who really knows??

probably out to show of thier helicopters and jets or someing like that u know what airforces are like

Probably a convoy of nuclear material or other highly dangerous material, this would be highly valued by terrorists and would need to be well protected. These convoys when going by road will vary the route so to prevent an ambush being prepared.

That happened to me before. I live in N.Y in a 5th story building, on the 5th floor. I heard a helicopter during the night. I looked up and saw a helicopter not too far from me. It was kind of cool I wanted to wave to them, but i was afraid they might shoot at me, if they had any guns. They were going around in a circle, like they were looking for someone and their bright light was in my face, but I don't think they were paying attention to me or saw me. They were a couple a feet from my building.

ok i live in southern california in a city called Rancho Cucamonga. its like an hour away from Los Angeles. i dont know where the nearest base is.

Could be the DEA...but who really knows??

That would be my guess, and I believe there are several bases within 45 minutes of rancho if not closer

Hmm - well having lived in Northern Ireland most of my life we get used to them. Now I live under the flight path for a major base so we get a lot. Its not really spooky - maore makes me feel safe - the bad guys are being watched.

i didnt really see them escorting anything, but it was in a formation. the appeared at like 3.

It could have been the military conducting night exercises, that would be my guess if they are flying low and in formation. Were you able to tell what kind of helicopters they were? We get low-flying UH-60s and UH-1Hs in formation around here (southern Arizona) probably twice a month. Three AM does seem a little late/early for them to be out, though.

You can't say it's "probably" that. It could be anything.

If this happens again call the police so they can tell the 'tary to keep it down
