Tackling Alien Attack

Type: According Lt Col Halt one of the objects "beamed down a stream of light from time to time" which "numerous individuals witnessed". The witnesses saw the objects beaming down multiple beams of light according to the audio tape taken (on the net somewhere and transcript widely distributed) which to Sgt.Bobby Ball appeared to be searching for something.

Effect: Some of the beams were directed at the AFB and some to the forest, no ill effects were reported nor were the beams directed at the individuals, excluding one case where an object beamed at the ground infront of Halt before it departed. This does sound like a sensor of some type.

A beam sensor is likely not very effective at covering a large area but will be more effective at penetrating matter as it is focused on a spot. Although the beams were not entirely directed at the AFB there may be some link to the tactical nuclear weapons reportedly stored there as according to many witnesses some of the beams were directed at the hardened bunkers.

Also afterwards according to Halt (pg.77 Beyond Top Secret) a C-141 Starlifter made an unscheduled landing carrying a special group of personnel, which according to another witness were sent to check on the nuclear weapons.


Medical Beam: Colares UFO Flap 1977

A multiple witness case over many months over the Brazillian island of Colares, many people were "attacked" by aerial craft beaming light at them, more likely they were the unfortunate recipients of an alien sampling programme, which also demonstrated Alien beams used in a "medical" capacity.

Type: I was going to lump this in with sensor beams but reading some of the reports it seems like more (in my opinion!) of a very precise use of the "force beam" perhaps coupled with the immobilising technology.

Effect: The Medical Beam combines several technologies, it can immobilise a witness; Benedito Campos and his 17-year old wife Silvia Mara were at home when they witnessed a green beam entering a small window, Silvia got closer whereupon the beam directed itself at her and immobilised her (not dissimiliar beam and colour to the earlier immobilising beam cases).

Or in the case of Claudomira (another resident) who observed a "focused bright green light ray " strike her left chest whereupon she was also paralysed.

And consequently "sample" them with perhaps an application of the force beam from earlier, one of the principle witnesses in this case was a doctor Wellaide Cecim Carvalho who was treating the victims of Colares and eventually was a witness to the UFO's herself, she described (quoting from ufologie site) "The beam was about [seven or eight centimeters] in diameter and white in color", which "immediately immobilized, as if a heavy weight pushed against their chest", the description of this beam is dissimilar to the green immobilising beam as it is a different colour and described not being "pencil-thin" imo it's more similar to reported force beam's in width and color, and also the doctor described the "force" beam as a "column of light [that] would slowly retract and disappear".

Summary: Medical Beam technology may be a very sophisticated implentation of the force beam on a much smaller scale to the extent of creating a very small laser burn in the skin then sucking upon it to sample blood/tissue etc., it seem's like a really great way to covertly and quickly fulfill your sampling needs!


Weapon Beam: UFO Disables Atlas Missile 1964

Reported many years after the event by a Dr.Robert Jacobs who was employed at the time as a USAF 1st Lt., Jacobs operated a high speed camera filming the launch and subsequent stages of an Atlas missile launch. Although Jacobs didn't observe the missile after launch, 2 days later he was asked to view the film he had taken, The film showed the subsequent recording of the payload down range whereupon a classic saucer shaped craft entered the frame, orbited the payload - travelling 18,000 miles an hour, and emmited several high intensity strobe flashes which according to Jacobs may of resulted in the payload falling well short of its target.

Type: Potentially a weapon, though some website's suggested an alien photo flash. The strobe flashes in Beyond Top Secret were described as producing blooming on the film indicating high intensity light discharge. Assuming it is a weapon beam it is capable of repeat discharges,

the weapon was however discharged very close to the payload though this may of been intentional. Perhaps more stunning than the strobing of the craft is its maneuvering potential which demonstrates the ability of this craft to intercept ballistic targets (was this an icbm or an irbm etc. I don't know?) of a certain (very high regardless!) speed, and engage in maneuvers with ease at that speed.

Effect: There seem's to be some debate on whether the payload was disabled or not so I'll leave this but it demonstrate's the potential for at least some craft to approach very fast target's at high altitude, and close for the phaser kill!
