The glassy-eyed, trenchcoat wearing aliens with the platinum-blond Doos made a basic mistake. They forgot that homo sapiens are temperature sensitive, and they inadvertantly chose a planet where it gets to minus 40 after dark. None of the kids made it through the night. But the concept was good. I did like the concept.

The aliens should have let the father come along.
There is NO reason to leave him behind.
Adults come in handy sometimes.
We can sing happy birthday to them.
We can fix things when they break.

They weren't "aliens".

And, the Rapture is not meant for everybody.

Knowing is COOL!
Great special effects!
The end didn't make much sense. Don't you think the children need
some adult supervision?
It would help if the kids had a Marriott and a Home Depot already there
at Earth 2.0.

Well some might say that children of a pure and kind heart might
not learn the greed, corruption, hate, and violence that pervades
our culture now.

Some might say it is genetic, others feel behavior is learned.

A planet with permaculture and no pyramid schemes of ppl making
slaves of all mankind with paper with ink on it.

No taxes, no fees, no licenses, etc etc.

Paradise is perceived differently by us all though.

Apparently for some it is consumerism.

Many hidden messages in this movie, well done.

Good Luck to you all !

The movie got the science wrong.
A large solar flare wouldn't destroy the Earth.

The odds of that huge flare blasting a direct shot at Earth is remote.
Our electromagnetic field would save us if the flare got close.
[edit on 22-3-2009 by Eurisko2012]

Other suns are capable of it, and we have recorded one sun
doing it in the VERY short span of time that we have had modern
science equipment to do so.

In fact in the life span of the earth if you compared its diameter
to the time it has existed, we have had modern science for less
than 1 stride.

What we might have missed in the last few billion years would
likely give us serious pause.

Distant star emits enormous Super Flare

Fortunate for us, like the link says, our sun is old and not capable
of a Flare of that magnitude unless something were to peturb the
sun like say maybe a long period companion star on a long
elliptical orbit coming back into the center of the solar system, lol.

A recognized respected scientist has termed it "Nemesis" and notices
a steady recurring extinction pattern every 26 million years on earth.

Nemesis - the long period companion star theory

Just a thought...

Quite odd that recurring 26 million mass extinction, but good for us
that the last recurring one was 5 million years ago.

The theory goes the route of a increase in asteroid and comet impacts
due to disruption of the Oort Cloud and Asteroid belt.

You really have to adjust your thoughts to think on this scale.

Not that we could really do a damn thing other than hide deep
underground.

Which makes you wonder about the TBM's, lol.

Just saw this last night and it was awesome!
Somewhat depressing but awesome!

And what is more ironic is how it is almost identical to the 2012 theories only earlier and not in 2012. Refer to my thread I made before seeing the movie, read the article then watch the movie. I think you will take it more seriously.
It almost seemed to me when watching it that someone was trying to get a message out. I am not sure but I have also had a huge dose of 2012 research lately so it could be me.

I just watched the movie, and I thought that is was pretty good.

I mean what is with the ending scene? It felt like it was trying to send a message. Tree of life, or knowledge?

Good special effects, and the story was well thought out.

Well worth seeing.

As to any of the actors and the director, and writers trying to tell us something? I dont know about that, but they certainly are going to be making money on the whole hype of the end of the world.

I have my doubts about the end of the world, but that is best left for another revelant thread.

Yeah I noticed that too. The end seemed like a garden of Eden with the tree of knowledge of good and evil and the kids could have portrayed in a way, adam and eve. Was full of interesting things and well worth the watch. Of course unless you are christian in which you will probably hate it.

yeah, but then if adults come they teach "their ways" which arent always the best, It was better with just the kids..

Remember Lord of the Flies. I dont know why, but after that ending scene I was thinking about how their lives would be on that new planet, and Lord of the Flies came into my head.

Yeah but who is to say that the kids won't start the same kind of thing on the new planet? I think it would be better with some adults as they can teach about history of their planet and understand the important things that were left behind so they will not be repeated on the next planet. Those kids don't know enough about it all to securely establish a civilization that won't just imitate what ours has.

Wow I can't believe I'm really going on about this movie.....

December 21, 2012 is not the end of the world.
It's a new beginning.
2013, 2014 and 2015 are going to be incredible years on Earth.
The Aliens will be helping us out.
A plan will be put forth to abolish poverty on the entire planet.

Not at all. As I stated, this movie seems to be depicting the Rapture. Or, some aspect of it.

I keep reading comments about this movie.

Nobody has actually gotten what it is about have they or have some?

I keep reading about aliens constantly??

The so called aliens in this movie are Angels.

At the end of the movie there is a tree that you see. Ring a bell?

Hello.......

I absolutely LOVED knowing! I don't want to spoil anything so Ill use discretion. I have real respect for the writer and producer of the movie for the ending. The ending is controversial and as such is a love it or hate it affair with a lot of people, but I'm GLAD they didn't just do what everybody wanted them to do!

I can't wait until the movie comes out on blu ray, I'm buying it on day 1!

IIRC, this is out now. Has anyone seen it?

I understand it's majorly another hack job against Christians and conservatives?

Sounds like more mass mind control by the oligarchy, to me.

I'd love to see a fair-minded review of it.

I just saw the movie over all it typical Cage. not a perfect 10, but its a good 8 ... I like movies I cant predict. and this movie is about predicting the future... you got to love the ending and I will not spoil it.

but there is more than one story in the story... I cant wait to find the hidden stuff ... like they had in National Treasure... and well it is not a 2012 but it is... enough I dont want to spoil it ... dont rush but the movie is watchable and you could wait for TV shouldnt be too long before its on TV ... the theater was only like 20% full on friday night.... its getting scary.

SPOILERS FOLLOW.

From what I can gather... and apologies if I inadvertently offend anyone:

Aliens = God. They made us and watched over us but an event out of their control was on the way to wipe out their experiment.

So they put into motion a plan that would have acceptable candidates in place before the event happened. They grabbed a boy and girl from all the races of the world and took them to a new planet to keep the race alive.

They were dropped off in the new Garden of Eden and left to create a new world.

Also something I noticed, when the aliens were levitating up to their ship at the end.. they had large glowing wings. Which is probably meant to tie in the human perception of angels.

Exactly, they were Aliens, but they are also Angels, The film is saying that all life on this planet is because this Alien species created it, our creator is our god which turns out to be an alien/s.

Same goes for the director, he knows it sells to minds like us, fourtanetly I have a friend inside the industry that allows me to view movies for free, so I don't pay a dime. (blockbuster)

Honestly, I don't think the Illuminati be it they exist, are telling anyone to do anything.

=)

hun, you're pulling that out of your ass, just guessing. research and find out all you can about people, celebs, the illuminati and how they all come together before you write them off so easily.
