The Christian Origins of the Koran/Qur'an

What is known is that the Islamic religion originates about 600 years after the first bible was made. (OT)

What I understood from a lecture is that the Koran is partly based on parts of the bibles old testament.

Some christians think that Baal, the fake God mentioned in the bible is now known as Allah.
What surprises me about Baal in the bible, is that even though this is not "the real God", it's not a God without power.
It does make you think though, when the bible warns for slightly corrupted versions of the truth (koran), leading to sin and sorrow. (suicide bombers, extremists)
