Obama: I Work for Americans, Not Lobbyists

abcnews.go.com
"I know these steps won't sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business, and I know they're gearing up for a fight as we speak," Obama said in a fiery weekly address released today. "My message to them is this: So am I."

The president pitted himself against some of the nation's most unpopular industries, and he named names: bankers, insurers and energy companies.

"I know that the insurance industry won't like the idea that they'll have to bid competitively to continue offering Medicare coverage," Obama said. "I know that banks and big student lenders won't like the idea that we're ending their huge taxpayer subsidies. ... I know that oil and gas companies won't like us ending nearly $30 billion in tax breaks."

He isn't working for us.

Congress isn't working for us.

Like any other politician, he is working for himself.

Part of me kinda hopes he is for real, although I tend to think you are 1000% correct. Only time will tell, if he is truly a man for the People and for America and does things to meet those ends. Well how did all the great ones die? In public and with a bullet usually, or three.

I didn't vote for him or anyone at all this last time around, but I will say that so far he has has led America towards a more peaceful existence in the world, and God knows that the War Industry won't like that one bit...

Domestically speaking he really can't make changes without the congress and I think those 535 scumbags have already shown us who they work for.

I wish President Obama and America luck in it's future and GOD knows we will need it...

I really couldn't have said it better myself. He is working for himself, just like the rest of them.

Lol hate to say it, but I think with the state of the world these days.. and people finding that they have been betrayed by BOTH parties, they should drop the idea of re-election right now.

Now would be the time, if any, to declare yourself a dictator and just not worry about what the people think. No matter who wins an election, people will be upset.

Really, with how upset many of the people are... it would be a good idea to become dictator, and then go into hiding for a while.
