Regulators shutter 2 more banks

money.cnn.com

State bank regulators closed two more banks on Friday, the 15th and 16th banks to fail this year, as the worsening recession pulled more regional banks underwater.

The announcement marks the seventh consecutive week of bank failures being announced on a Friday evening.

Combined, the two bank failures will cost the Deposit Insurance Fund approximately $100.7 million.

It looks like the weekly bank failure announcement came on schedule.. sort of.

But anyway, as every week in what has become MegaCurious' weekly bank failure report (I like the sound of that, has a nice ring to it), we have 2 more banks failing.

I wonder why they close them down two or three at a time every week, instead of just doing all of it at once? And, why is it always on a Friday evening?

Okay, duh, we all know the answer to that.

See you again next week...
