I doubt if these protest rallies do a bit of good. Could be our govt is organizing them. They want people to peacefully march in the streets and accomplish nothing instead of dragging congressgangsters and bankers out of their homes and hanging them from trees.

Wow! seeing this take place makes me really happy to be an american, and see that the people still have enough cojones to stand up to an oppressive govt. Now all we need is for americans to take it further and remove the idiots in washington (starting with Obama, Emanuel and Clinton) for more honest individuals.
And how will this removal take place. March around congress for 40 yrs ?

I think one thing that our *cough* leaders should really notice from these pictures is that these are coming from common people. There are no radical looking hippies or specific age groups in these photos. The look like you neighbors and friends and family.

These are the people that make up We the People. DC should be nervous and cautious. Yet like the aristocracy of France, they are figuratively saying "Let them eat cake." as they bypass the will, wants and very needs of the People.

"No Taxation by Misrepresention" is what I say. DC really needs to stand down before being made to step down.

This is what I just posted in another thread, but I think it's entirely relevant here

Money needs to flow like blood in your circulatory system. What happens when you get a clot? Certainly not a pleasant feeling. What if that clot reaches your heart? Your brain? Simple.... you die. If the heart is the whole economy and the brain is the government, killing the brain kills the heart. Killing the heart will kill the brain. People refusing to spend money creates millions of little clots that will effects the whole body, not just one small part. If the people are cowards and to afraid to spend money, then fine. The government will do what it can to force money to move. Through spending and taxes, money will have to move whether it wants to or not.(think blood thinners). Is this the right course of action to take? Probably not, but desperate times and mass fear and ignorance doesn't exactly fit into an "ideal situation" either.

I'll add that I don't really support the stimulus... but something needs to be done and I don't have any better ideas. Lowering taxes isn't a cure all, neither is just blowing a lot of money.

In my analogy, what happens when you're on a large dose of strong blood thinners and get injured? Cut? Shot? We're trapped in a very narrow hallway with razor blades covering the walls. The exit can't be seen clearly and the door we walked through is locked and covered in even more blades. If we do nothing, we'll eventually stumble or fall asleep and fall on the razors. Maybe we'll even go crazy and start to desire falling on the razors just to get it over with.

Funny thing is that this stimulus packages are being given out because you had a President sitting for 8 years ruining your country with fighting wars and giving his friends good deals, and still people are demonstrating against the new President, that has nothing to do with the reason why he is putting out these stimulus packages.

Your country is tanking at the moment and instead of behaving like spoiled kids and throw eggs on the Politicians who was just elected i think you all should head down to where Bush resides and put up the demonstrations there.

Best regards.

Loke.

Seems there's a few scattered pockets of resistance.

Should be easy enough to mop up when push comes to shove.

Thanks! The proofs in the numbers but no one wants to look.
It is easier to criticize than reflect and learn and correct.
The tax cuts for the rich are what put us on this train.
The blank check war sure didn't help either.
The bad thing is THAT money is not even counted as debt!!!WTF?
Neither did one last money grab before the former admin
left office! People have a usefull memory of about 2 weeks.
We can deny it on the grounds of party lines or ideaologies.
But either way we're all screwed and in this together.

i swear, if i hear one more poor person bitching about the bailout plan i'm going to lose my mind. Poor people bitching about socialism is one giant oxy moron. The next person that compares socialism to communism needs to visit a socialist country and ask the people living there about how their lives compare to those in represive communist nations.

If you are a conservative in this country chances are you're either an uneducated moron or have ideals that take advantage of the people that are.

You're being played if you think this is about partisanship. Most of the people against this bailout are independent. Both the neo-conservatives and the liberals have worked against each other in the open and for each other behind closed doors. And all we will have to show for it is a ruined nation.

I'm a Constitutionalist. I even supported Obama, at first. Until I found his voting record. REAL ID: Voted yes(Unconstitutional) The USA PATRIOT Act: Voted yes(Unconstitutional) New FISA Amendments for domestic spying: Voted yes(Unconstitutional) Wishes to ban firearms YES. Unconstitutional spending: Yes, Continuation of Rendition policy: YES. The list goes on. Joe Biden was one of the architects of the PATRIOT Act. Both of them voted yes on the homegrown terrorism act which pretty much stifles freedom of assembly and dissent. These people are no different than Bush. They are tyrannical if not by design then by incompetence.

These bailouts will destroy our economy. We discuss this stuff every day and in depth. I recommend you learn a little about how the economy and the markets work and then come back and tell me if this is a good idea. Explain to me how we're supposed to pay off tens of trillions of dollars by increasing our debt further? Explain to me why pulling out of Iraq suddenly means leaving 50,000 troops there until god knows when. I thought we were going to get a pullout? Explain to me why he attempted to stop a lawsuit over Bush's warrentless wiretapping practices?

He's a fraud. Even my girlfriend, who voted for this guy, has come to see just how irresponsible this man is with OUR money. When Bush ok'd the first round of bailouts there was a huge backlash. Now that Obama is in office it's ok to do the same damned thing? Really? Come on man.

Socialist countries? Like China (considered Socialist), Cuba, Laos, Vietnam, North Korea? Or like Nicaragua, Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Libya?

Yeah, let's go visit them and see how well Socialism has done for the average person in those countries.

Please don't tell me you are one of the deluded who think countries like Sweden are socialist! Government funded universal healthcare does not make a country socialist.

The Soviet Union used socialism as a means to recover from the Great Depression. How'd that turn out for them?

No, it isn't our money! It belongs to our children and grandchildren. We are spending their money, not ours.

Just for fun, try this.

The White House Warned Congress About Fannie Mae Freddie Mac 17 Times In 2008, Alone

here is the list

For many years the President and his Administration have not only warned of the systemic consequences of financial turmoil at a housing government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) but also put forward thoughtful plans to reduce the risk that either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac would encounter such difficulties. President Bush publicly called for GSE reform 17 times in 2008 alone before Congress acted. Unfortunately, these warnings went unheeded, as the President’s repeated attempts to reform the supervision of these entities were thwarted by the legislative maneuvering of those who emphatically denied there were problems.

How about blaming something other then Bush for a change,

yea change,

Star for you.

I think people have gotten to the point where they don't even know what this country stands for.

_________________

I'm really sick of all this partisanship dribble, the country really doesn't have the time for it, you can blame Bush, you can blame Clinton, you can blame Bush I, you can blame Reagan, etc. And if anybody asks where was I the past 8 years, why don't you look in the mirror and ask yourself the same question. I was busy going to school and partying and not paying attention to what was going on around me. What is your excuse?

The real cause of all this mess is bad monetary policy and thinking that debt creates wealth. Well we see how well that is working out for us right now aren't we our wealth is evaporating by the day.

The fact is the people in these pictures are the silent majority that people talk about, you don't usually see them because they are too busy working, taking care of the kids and saving money for a rainy day, although you might see them occasionally in your local restaurant, or kids baseball game.

This is just a start and it is going to snowball into something bigger. This time though the people that you will start seeing are regular everyday people that are the backbone of this country. What you will see little of is a bunch of hippies that are screaming the talking points of the day because they act more like lemmings and their mentality is gimme, gimme, gimme.

You made a comment earlier that the money belongs to the people. No, it doesn`t, it belongs to the Federal Reserve. It is printed and distributed by them, and beings they are a private bank not owned by the government, it is their money and they allow us to use it. If the money was printed and distributed by the Federal Government, that would be a different story, we would own it and it WOULD be ours to do with as we please.

Right now, the power is in the hands of the Federal Reserve, and thanks to our government, they gave them even more power. Remember them giving Paulson that power?

It looks like those of us who know that both Parties share blame and guilt are finding our voice.
Even the usually in the hip pocket of the DNC News is coming around.

Too the poster above who blames it all on one Administration without regard to the fact both Parties have equal involvement in this, you are blind. This took decades to reach this point and both Parties have had ample chance to stop it. Behind closed doors they are the same.

It appears the thorough mesmerization of the American Public by Obama is wearing off as people realize what is happening. We are having the wants and wishes of a radical point of view, that only represents a tiny minority shoved down our throats.

9,000 Earmarks including those authored by Obama, before he had his name removed, and many in his Cabinet.

It is so simple that even the least intellectual among us can clearly see that we CAN NOT spend our way out of this mess. So simple a child can understand, but they believe we can not in their arrogance.

I wish I had an inside view of the flood of emails, phone calls and mail that Obama must be drowning in by now. This is such a slap in the face to those who elected him, people who are normally silent are getting very vocal.

Lets hope the lesson of peaceful demonstration reaches levels not seen before. There is nothing more powerful than Joe Ordinary taking to the streets peacefully, hand in hand with other ordinary citizens.

It is easy for them to ignore the radical violent protesters and their nutty behavior. This they won't be able to ignore. Obama and his people are all over the airwaves rationalizing their decisions to spend like drunken sailors when the bank account is already empty. If they were children, I'd say they need to be sent to their room without supper

A majority of Americans consider themselves Independents and I think that fact is starting to sink in. People are starting to realize that we are the majority and the Far Right and Far Left have had too much power for far to long. This Far Left cash give away is a step too far. Did they really think when they put the numbers on the Internet that people would not read them and understand what is happening? The Pigs are feeding at the trough.
