Someone posted some pictures on Coast to Coast AM website

www.coasttocoastam.com ....

and said the following:

Feb 23, 2009. Over the past five months, this "compound" has taken shape out in the central Arizona desert, in the middle of nowhere near Blackwater and Sacaton Arizona, along the dry Gila River. It looks to be about a quarter mile long by an eighth mile wide. It has razor wire all around it, power lines run to it and about half of it is cleared of vegetation. It is in an inhospitable and inescapable area of the Sonoran desert. The closest small towns would be about 10 miles away in any direction. You'd be lucky to walk one mile in the summer heat there. April to November temps are commonly well above 100F. Summertime temps are routinely 120 F or even higher. Could this be for Guantanamo Bay detainees? Coming civil unrest? Illegal aliens? Mortgage defaulters? ...I will keep you posted. --Steve in Coolidge, AZ

Has anyone ever seen this before? What do you think of it?

PS: not sure this is the right place to post this

I would like to point out that for some reason the pictures are cropped some. large poles are cut out of the bottom picture - they are seen in the distance. You can see them on the C2C site. Maybe someone can post the pics so they show completely.
(new to posting pics and I don't have many points yet for big pics.)

also on another site where they are discussing this they pointed out that you can see what looks like a backhoe or something. Its yellow and visible in the bottom picture in the distance left side of fence.

I don't know where it is exactly. It was posted by someone on the C2C site but he gives a general area near some towns and a river. He also says it is fairly recent. May not be on google earth yet as it is an unpopulated area and the updates are not very frequent.

May also be an archeological dig site - as the Casa Grande Ruins are not too far from that area. Could also just be some sort of 'regular' development in the outskirts of Phoenix.

This location, as indicated in the OP, is just south of Phoenix - maybe 15-20 miles out. That's not really too far out in the desert.

Yeah I'm looking at a sat picture of the area and found the towns of blackwater and Sacaton as well as what looks like a dry river bed. He says he is from coolidge which is to the SE not that far away from the area. It looks to me as though it couldn't be 10 miles to nearest town anywhere in that area, but more like 5 or 7 miles at most. I can't find anything. There are many rectangular things out there in the desert and I don't know if the fence would show up well or even if the areal photos are current enough to show it.

Damn we need more pics.

That's a largish excavator that can be seen.

I would say at least 20+ (metric) tonne, so they're shifting quite a bit of dirt.

I'm also thinking that the photos are showing the back gate, since the sealed road stops at the gate inside the facility.

Who knows, a walk to the other end my present a sign telling us what it is.

Recently on local news something was said about the sity of Glendale, AZ is a bit upset with the Gila River Indian Res. for wanting to build a gaming casino.

This may be the site chosen for that casino. The fencing is there to discourage thievery and vandalism.

The yellow equipment in the back ground looks to be a trenching excavator.
They dig a trench faster that a back hoe. Probably for underground utilities...sewer, water, electric, gas, etc.

It could always be somebody's gold claim. Or some other precious metal claim.

I'm intrigued by the road/path/track that starts at the edge of the fence itself. It makes sense that, for starting building within the compound, it's going to need roads within the compound itself.

However the lack of road on the outside seems very strange. Unless all the building materials are going to be somehow flown in, it's going to rely on some road network leading to the place if there's going to be some large development on the site. There's tyre tracks in the sand, but if large heavy plant machinery was being used, I'd have though it would need a fairly substantial road or the tracks in the sand would be a lot more apparent and entrenched.

I'd have thought that an unnamed road of some kind would appear first and perhaps be made inaccessible to unauthorised users. Then, after that, the development would appear. It almost seems backwards in chronological order.

On the Coast to Coast site, where you can see the full pictures, there appears to be some metallic structures on the right hand side of the 1st picture. The road in the images seems to lead off to the right towards them. It's a shame that you can't really get a sense of scale of how big they actually are in order to speculate on what they might be.

Reminds me of the surface area for the underground compound in 'Day Of The Dead' & 'Resident evil 3' to keep the zombies out! (it might be for a movie?)

Glendale is NW of Pheonix.

here is an article about the casino in Glendale.

The area referred to here in this thread is to the SE of Pheonix.

remind me of a book i read a while ago about a fenced in goverment facility in the middle of nowhere on the colorado/utah boarder (supposedly) where they would monitor landing ufos and act as a crash/retrieval team.

rachael's eyes book

The book was written about events that the author claimed happened. Whatever the case this is exactly how i imagined the compound and the pictures match the description. I really wish we had some coordinates i'd like to look at this more.

I reread the post by Steve in Coolidge and he said power lines run to it. Maybe thats what the poles are in the pictures he posted (again they are not in the pics I posted or linked to - they are cut or cropped for some reason). I find it fascinating. Steve, if you read this, you have caused some speculation about your post C2C on several different websites. Join ATS and give us some more info!

I'm very familiar with the area, note that this is on an Indian Reservation just north of Coolidge, so a housing community is not likely because it's on tribal land. Never seen the this area personally but will be taking a drive there soon. I've heard stories from friends that live in Blackwater of a gated area in the desert that have "No Trespassing lethal force may be used" signs posted.
Also Convoys of black SUVs passing through the middle of the night.

Also all the archeological sites relating to the Casa Grande Ruins are already protected about 2 square Miles around the ruins in Coolidge.

Also there is an old WW2 camp about 5 miles north of Coolidge, were American Japanese Citizens were detained. Could this be the same site under construction? maybe.

Will be posting updates and pictures as soon as I can.

Excellent information you provided. Look forward to hearing back from you on this. Maybe you can post lots of pictures and provide coordinates once you have found it - would be interesting to know about.

Try this - on Google Earth go to:
33° 1'50.03"N
111°37'4.64"W
Make sure you have Street View enabled.
Zoom in as far as you can go until the streetview address for 4882 W Blackwater Rd appears and double click it to look around. Note the excavator, and the double range of hills in the background. Compare these to what is in the images shown on Coast-to-Coast.
