Or just for the fun of it.

How many people have handed over their wallets just to end up dead thinking to comply would save their life? How many women have jumped over to the passenger seat in a carjacking thinking that would save them ended up face down raped half to death in a gutter?

This "dont be an obstacle to your own abuse" crap is total bull and shame on you for buying into it.

ATS is a government shill.

I think you should look and read alot more- before you jump to conculsions. This is a great site-where else is their a magatude of information changing hands (and minds).

On Topic: There was a time that Ak Variants were cheap. Not the $450 garbage that is floating around today. I bought my first Maadi for $250 prior to the last AWB. Ammo was dirt cheap. Now you cannot buy a Maadi for less that $600 and durning the ban--more than $1000. Ar15's shot up in price the day after the election-but if you watched gun prices in the last year or so- you would have saw a gradual increase. There was a time that Ak mags sold in bundles of three or four for less than $28 bucks. Ar15 pmags are selling for almost $10 more than they were a few months ago. Supply and demand is one reason the other is about "Change."

The AWB will be on the same guns as before, a whole pile of other guns, including handguns. Mags over 10 rnds, those prior evil features of the black rifle and the black rifle's handgun version. Body Armor will also be included in this. You will see a surge in Taxes on Ammo and other gun related merch to help pay for the new programs.

This crap makes me mad as hell.

I personally feel that pain. I at the moment have 2 rifles and a hand gun but cant afford to get an AR15 because they are nearly 1200$ in my area. Not to mention stocking up on the ammo for the weapon will cost half that.

(I stock up in terms of survival)

Let me pose a question to all of us here:

What would you do if they banned guns like they did in the UK?

I for one would stop what I am doing and head for Washington ASAP. Protest right outside the White House with a sign and everything. No one messes with the Bill of Rights. Even if it were just the banning of hand guns I would go.

A well regulated militiabeing necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Question! Are you in a well-regulated militia?

Also, if you can have assault weapons, can I please have a flamethrower or bazooka?

I feel utterly, utterly, sorry for you. You are a PRIME example of WHY this discussion is even happening in the first place. Instead of having a discussion about what kind of gun to get we're having a discussion on if we should have a gun at all!? IT'S OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT. I never had a gun up until about a month ago, and I'm sure many people are like this.

I don't know the statistics off hand.. but I've heard that Texas (the state with the most privately owned guns) is also the state with the lowest burglaries. Why? Because people don't wanna go into a house, knowing the chances of being met by a shotgun, magnum, 9mm pistol are pretty damn high. The risk outweighs the reward for them.

You say use your body to defend yourself? Right..

If you outlaw guns then only the outlaws will have guns. Do you think someone who is breaking the law to begin with is going to care if they have a gun aswell? And would you want to try to defend yourself from a guy with a gun with a knife? lol...

But, I guess this is the mentality the people of this country have adopted.

Here's a real shock:

Nancy Pelosi Against AWB Renewal

Attorney General Eric Holder raised the prospect Wednesday that the administration would push to bring back the ban. But Pelosi (D-Calif.) indicated on Thursday that he never talked to her. The Speaker gave a flat “no” when asked if she had talked to administration officials about the ban.

“On that score, I think we need to enforce the laws we have right now,” Pelosi said at her weekly news conference. “I think it's clear the Bush administration didn’t do that.”

Now if Nancy Pelosi won't support this thing, it's dead in the water no matter what Holder wants.

And I'm shocked that I just discovered a reason to like Nancy Pelosi.

Now that IS a shocker. My guess is that nine-percent-Nancy isn't so much an opponent of the AWB, but she realizes that if the Congressional Dems back it, her days as House Speaker will end in November of next year...as will any hopes of a Dem congressional majority for the forseeable future.

Its political expediency at its finest, but at least in this case, it appears to be pushing her to the right decision. It serves the purpose, I suppose.

I think you need to re-read that.

Because a militia is necessary the right of people to own and carry guns shall not be messed with. It doesnt say anything about having to be in a militia to have a gun even though militia means any able-bodied male 18-35.

Also, yes, you can have a flamethrower. A professionally built one runs about $300.

What is it with you people?

You're absolutely right, but Heller vs DC rendered that stupid militia argument irrelevant, anyway. The citizens of this country have a right to own firearms regardless of any militia membership and the USSC has now ruled as such.

I don't care what you have, as long as I can have it too.

She may have more sense than I credit her.

She either recognizes that it would be political suicide or it won't be elections dragging politicians out of the Capitol building next year if they keep pushing absurd legislation.

Yea, I read his first post and as I got further into the thread I saw that.. lol

But his feelings I'm sure matches that of many liberals in this country to begin with.

Edit to add-

I just called my representative (Mary Jo Kilroy) and told her not to vote for this, although she will.. she is so liberal it makes me ill.

That's my thought too.

Still it's a pleasant surprise, and if she maintains her position, any AWB renewal is pretty much dead in the water for now.

I love it! These hippies keep sarcastically throwing snide remarks around and making themselves look like fools. Go back to smelling your own farts and let men be men.

Bottom line; keep your compassion and unwavering desire to be a good, compliant victim to yourselves. Go to your local ally, spread your cheeks and wait to be victimized so you can feel good about yourselves for taking the high road. The rest of us will continue to stockpile ugly, mean weapons and protect our families with our last breath if it ever comes down to it.

Stupid College Students.

You want someone to blame, blame them.

They are like lead. Dense and Poisonous to the touch, easily mold able, and they make a loud thud when they are dropped on the floor.

Aww not all of us
There is hope man!!

Let 'em try to take away my Tigr. I'll see them at 800m

I recently (within the year) bought a handgun, its nothin fancy just a hi-point .40 SW. It is the only gun I have ever owned.

I was irritated with the fact that I cannot actually 'carry' it around with me without having a liscence for concealed weapons. I bought it in VA, then had to move to SC. In VA I can openly carry it anywhere that weapons are permitted.

So how do we have the right to bare arms?

It seems more like this...

We have the right to have a weapon locked in a cabinet with 50,000 forms of ID next to it to prove that we have this so called right but oh btw you cant have the ones you just bought so you have to turn those in... But I did at one point give you the PRIVELAGE to bare arms so there you go...

Total twist of our constitutional rights....

For what purpose do you feel you need to be able to legally own assault weapons anyway? I'm in the UK and thank god for a complete ban on guns here.
