Wow, take a look at some of these numbers! What a bunch of crap!
Republicans included!

We just went thru this same crap, and now they are doing it again.
See how mad it makes you this time.
And Obama has the balls to stand there and tell us no Earmarks!

1,000-plus-page spending bill includes hundreds of pages of earmarks - pet spending projects inserted by lawmakers, ranging from:

$185,000 for coral reef research and preservation in Maui County, Hawaii

$55,000 in meteorological equipment for Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Calif.

$9.9 million for science enhancement at historically black colleges in South Carolina.

In addition to the basic operations of government, the new budget includes 775 pages of earmarks, funding programs that include local museums, colleges and infrastructure projects.

Among the earmarked projects in the bill are $764,000 for the Lake George Watershed Protection Initiative in New York, requested by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, New York
Democrat;

$9.9 million for South Carolina's historically black colleges and universities, requested by House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, South Carolina Democrat;

$1.1 million requested by Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander and Sen. Bob Corker, both of Tennessee, for water treatment plant improvements in Tennessee's Unicoi County, as well as $300,000 for a sewer extension project in another county.

Examples of Earmarks in the Omnibus

$713,625 Woody Biomass at SUNY-ESF. Walsh and Schumer sponsors

$951,500 Sustainable Las Vegas. Berkeley and Reid sponsors.

$24,000 A+ for Abstinence. Specter is sponsor.

$300,000 Montana World Trade Center. Rehberg sponsor.

$950,000 Myrtle Beach International Trade and Convention Center. Graham sponsor.

$200,000 Oil Region Alliance. Peterson sponsor.

$190,000 Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody, WY for digitizing and editing the Cody collection. Barbara Cubin is the sponsor

$143,000 Las Vegas Natural History Museum, Las Vegas, NV, to expand natural history education programs. Sponsored by Harry Reid

$238,000 for the Polynesian Voyaging Society, Honolulu, HI, for educational programs. Sen. Daniel Inouye is the sponsor.

$381,000 for Jazz at Lincoln Center, New York, NY for music education programs. Jerrold Nadler is the sponsor.

Rep. Jerry Lewis of California, the top Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, would spend $3.8 million on a Needles, Calif., highway.

Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi, the top Republican on Senate Appropriations, backs earmarks including a $950,000 nature education center in Moss Point, Miss. He defends earmarks.

How long are we going to be swindeled like this?

Bernake has the balls to come on and say that he can control the inflation so don't worry.
These guys are so out of control that they actually think they know what they are doing!

Obviously you're mistaken....

Obama has said repeatedly there were no earmarks in this bill.

You're just confused.

Why would he lie to us????

I got pissed at my wife last night when she started to believe the a-hole.

Definitely, a lot more pork...but in regards to the above quote...If this is the highway I'm thinking about....it is a very dangerous road and heavily traveled. It is a 2 lane "suicide" road thru the desert. When passing you take your life in your hands. The amount suggested for it's upgrade is really not that much.

Then again, such repairs should be the concern of the State of California...but...when you're broke who's Arnie gonna call???....

I think the Republicans are in the "If you can't beat them, join them", mode.
Just when I thought they were going back to their principles.

There are no principles left in Washington right now I'm afraid.

The time has come for revolution!

It can't wait any longer.

Most Republicans have no principles.

Don't buy into that crap.

They get back into power they'll just do more of the same BS they did last time.

New blood is needed in Congress.

I wouldn't dare stand by either one of these political parties.

They are both a disgrace to what the Constitution stands for.

I swear.. he's a good speaker so the watchers go all misty eyed, drool a little, with a look of awe and reverence as the Messiah tells them how he will solve alll their problems.

Then he turns around and does a 360º on what he just said.. and amazingly.. no one cares.

I think with Bush he was such a dumbass that no one really understood what he was even saying, and hated him just by hearing him talk.

I would love to know how those earmarks (unless Obama coined a new term for Earmarks) will stimulate the economy?

There are no earmarks in the bill just like America invented the automobile...................................NOT!

Honestly, I think that some of the Republican sponsored items on this list don't belong there. Highway improvements, water treatment facillity improvbements, and sewer extension improvements are outstanding examples of the type of projects that should be in a stimulus bill. They create jobs and, oftentimes, are projects which are badly needed and traditionally recieve federal funding anyway. I fail to see how actually necesary (and from what I can see, properly estimated budget wise) infrastructure improvements compare with frivilous crap like black college enhancements and convention centers.

There is new blood in Congress.

People voted for this "change", remember.

They voted it in power in 2006, and gave it more power in 2008.

Only difference between a Dem and a Rep is there "social" concerns.. which don't matter because they are never debated. Other then that.. look at what both parties packed into this bill.. I wouldn't be able to discern who was a rep, who was a dem, by looking at their spending.

Exactly!!!! Remember, it was BOTH Republicans and Democrats that voted for the first big bailout last year. The root of the problem goes beyond Democrat / Republican.

It's happening now my friend.

This is the change we need!

Obama just forgot to mention it was change for the worse...not the better.

I believe I've finally figured the answer to that out. Once they have turned the entire economy of the nation completely into crap, the big diaper which says Democracy and is wrapped around our ass of a nation will be changed for one stamped 'Global Socialism.' There's the change... too bad that Global Socialism brand diapers are widely known to leak around the legs and cause horrible rashes.

OK
So let me get this straight, No earmarks YEAH RIGHT

Increase troop levels in Afganistan by 17.000

Cut the defence budget by 10%

I know what the "change" is.
It's what I'll be asking for in the bread line.
