Fort Bliss is responding to an Associated Press report that the "Army Emergency Relief Fund" is hoarding money.
The fund is set up to help soldiers who are struggling financially or have an unexpected expense arise.
The A.P. story claims that between 2003 and 2007 the AER grew to 345 Million dollars.
That would allow the fund to have enough reserves for the next 12 years.
Ft Bliss responded saying that the program is successful because of how it provides help to soldiers
