Apparently you missed the picture of the worker standing in an elevated
platform while cutting the column

Also can see angled cuts on the beam

I think you meant angled "cut" without the "s" because I only see one. He didn't go all the way across, so it could be that he was testing/adjusting his torch in that area before making the cuts. But we do know for a fact that steel columns are cut at angles in controlled demolitions.
