You know I just had a thought.... all those labor camps and railway cars that are all over the place?
Those might be in place to put all the mexicans that will flee mexico if there is a nasty civil war.

Think about it. It makes sense.

if the US offials stop getting involved with the drug lords then maybe there won't be a problem....who knows

Are you saying that we should just leave the drug lords alone, when they cross the border, kidnap someone on US soil, a FELONY on US territory, and just let them cross back?
I can't believe you're saying that.

What I am saying is that the Officals are the ones IN with the drug lords...thats why its "getting bad" because they are in on it with them...

On the local level (like, state senate and below) there are actually a lot of people try ing to clean up, the probem as I said is really the Feds interfering. This is fast turning into another states rights vs. federal rights issue so I am certainly going to keep a clsoe watch on this.

I say send in the special forces, they'd mop up in no time! I live about 4-6 hours from the boarder so this hits home in a shocking way. I got my guns ready just in case.

It was mentioned there are issues in West Mexico, does this include the California/Mexico boarder?
[edit on 21-2-2009 by oconnection]

Well it would not be that easy. The cartels bad guys, were trained by special Ops. They trained 50 of them. Then when they decided to turn to the other side, they trained another 1000. This information was on Glenn Beck Program by one of the Govt. guys. I don't know if there is a youtube of it or not.

didn't tom clancey make a game about this? he's usually dead on...

Four games with his name on it were made about this. Note all of the games take place in the same "universe" in different times.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas

The game's storyline follows a new Rainbow team that is dispatched to Las Vegas, Nevada to defeat international terrorist Irena Morales and her army of mercenaries that is repeatedly attacking key locations in the city

en.wikipedia.org...

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
Which continues the story line from part one and expands it.
en.wikipedia.org...:_Vegas_2

Note the main story in the Rainbow Six games take place around July 2, 2010.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

The game story, written by Douglas Gayeton, takes place over the course of two days in 2014, beginning in Mexico City. A US spy plane carrying Guardrail IX, a device capable of disrupting wireless communications, is shot down over Nicaragua. Intelligence discovers a plot to transfer the device to rebels in Mexico City, and the Ghosts are sent in to retrieve it. One of the rebels is identified as Colonel Carlos Ontiveros, son of Mexican General Ontiveros, and a student of Bud, Mitchell's friend and a UH-60 pilot. The mission is aborted when a coup d'état begins in Mexico City and the Ghosts are ordered to Mexico City immediately, where a summit involving the leaders of the United States: President Ballantine, Canada: Canadian Prime Minister (unnamed), and Mexico: President Ruiz-Peña, who are signing the North American Joint Security Agreement (NAJSA), is taking place. The summit is attacked by Mexican revolutionaries, who kill the Canadian Prime Minister, and force the Presidents of the US and Mexico into hiding. Mitchell is sent to extract both leaders.

en.wikipedia.org...

Note the North American Joint Security Agreement (NAJSA) as well.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2

The game takes place in 2014, just one day after the events of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW), just south of the United States border, and deals with the conflict between a Mexican rebel group, Mexican loyalists, and the U.S. Army for a time span of 72 hours.

en.wikipedia.org...

The games present a very destabilized and dangerous situation in Mexico with Mexican terrorists striking inside the US and eventually dragging the US military into conflict in Mexico during a span of four years, 2010-2014

Hope this does'nt sound too dumb, But has anyone besides me figured out that maybe the Fed Gov no longer wants the southwest. That maybe this nation is too big and spread out for the fedGov to effectivly control. Would it be in their best intrests to let this part of the nation "go to Hell" so they concentrate their evil agenda in an area that is much more controllable ?. Most of our heavy industries are still in the north. What's the logic behind keeping an area so vast as the southwest?. Is this why we get no response from the FedGov concerning a litteral war at our southern borders ?. The situation is far more grave than we know and pretty much out of control. I know what we need to do but to say it here on ATS is inviting a 1:00am type party with about 15 Fed agents knocking down your front door. I'm well aware that this site is monitored by the Government for everything that's said here. MM

There's a hell of a lot of raw minerals in the SW. There's also lots of military and technological companies there--not to mention vast oil refineries and shipping ports along the coasts. I don't think they're willing to let that go at all.

I live in El Paso, Texas.....the violence in Juarez is growing by each day. They had a 48hr bounty on Police officers ..saying one would be killed if the Chief did not resign. He finally did so the other day. I haven't heard of anything with the Texas National Guard ..though. I will be watching the news to see if there are any developments.

MEXICAN DRUG CIVIL WAR TEXAS ON ALERT 3 BRIDGES BLOCKED BY PROTESTERS

www.youtube.com...

This is crazy, why won't the feds step in. If this was another country that could damage our "oil" supply we would send them in right away. Texas=New Orleans??? Could we see help when its "too late" then blame it on Texas. Texas isnt playing around F the Feds!

I've spoken.. with people from Mexico..and what they are telling me that the violence is not strictly..from Cartels. That there is a hidden power/force that is setting it up to make it seem that way. What they tell me is that for the most part the Cartel has settled things and that somebody else is causing all this havoc. That kind of spooked me when they told me that.

The drug cartel violence has been a very real problem along the border for years. The only thing that appears to be different is that the people of Mexico are protesting.... I haven't crossed the border in a couple of years but even in the 1960s I knew to be careful on the other side..... The last time I was in Juarez was in the mid 80s and it was scary then. I was the only Gringo on the streets of Nuevo Laredo 2 1/2 years ago and constantly being asked if I wanted to buy drugs. That city couldn't hire a police chief at that time due to numerous former chiefs being murdered.....Things have always been weird in Mexico. I don't understand why it is suddenly an issue when it has always been the way it is now, and no one cared.

Things have always been weird in Mexico. I don't understand why it is suddenly an issue when it has always been the way it is now, and no one cared.

Because there was over 5.600 reported murders in 08 and in 09 it looks like it's gonna be over 10.000 reported murders.

When I say reported, it's because most people think it's much higher... like over 10.000 in 08.

Anyway, add to that the over 30 millions illegal aliens in the US...the economic crisis and the mexico government probable collapse... and massive influx of illegals crossing the border at the same time...

You could have huge gun fights at the border in 09, one thing for sure, the total violence in the US will go up in 09.

You're welcome. Your blog was the only FULL video clip. Foxnews cut it off halfway through the interview with Sen. Patrick. I'm glad you had it. It is obvious the MSM is trying to avoid the entire situation. They love Obama, and are covering up the fact that Obama refused to do anything.

BOOK OF PSYCHOPOLITICS
* Of note here is that the Russians have already admitted to having a heavy part in our drug trafficking.
"The masses last come to believe that only excessive taxation of the rich can relieve them of the "burdensome leisure class" and can thus be brought to accept such a thing as income tax, a Marxist principle smoothly slid into Capitalistic framework in 1909 in the United States. This even though the basic law of the United States forbade it and even though Communism at that time had been active only a few years in America. Such success as the Income Tax law, had it been followed thoroughly could have brought the United States and not Russia into the world scene as the first Communist nation. But the virility and good sense of the Russian peoples won. It may not be that the United States will become entirely Communist until past the middle of the century but when it does it will be because of our superior understanding of economics and of psychopolitics."
"The Capitalist does not know the definition of war. He thinks of war as attack with force performed by soldiers and machines. He does not know that a more effective if somewhat longer war can be fought with bread or, in our case, with drugs and the wisdom of our art. The Capitalist has never won a war in truth. The psychopolitician is having little trouble winning this one. "
"By making readily available drugs of various kinds, by giving the teen-ager alcohol, by praising his wildness, by stimulating him with sex literature and advertising to him or her practices as taught at the Sexpol, the psychopolitical operator can create the necessary attitude of chaos, idleness and worthlessness into which can then be cast the solution which will give the teen-ager com- plete freedom everywhere -- Communism."

I get a real kick out of these people that feel illegal incursions into this country are fine and dandy. These are the same people that believe that nothing belongs to a person,it all belongs to all the people. These are the people who seem to hold the popular sway in this country. I'd love to see how they would react. If they came home to a house full of illegals, lounging around, eating all the food, and refuse to leave. IT's the same damn thing that is happening to this country. Think about it!!

Thank you for a breath of sanity. Starred.

PROPOGANDA (How The Media Molds Your Mind) (1928) Edward Bernay's (Sigmund Freud's Nephew)

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country."
"Bernays' honest and practical manual provides much insight into some of the most powerful and influential institutions of contemporary industrial state capitalist democracies." - Noam Chomsky
