First of all there were meetings before going to Iraq of Iraqi dissidents in the US speaking for their relatives over in Iraq.

One case I still remember was about a girl who had written a report about Saddam that she read at her school. She said in the report a few things that one teacher didn't like, because it wasn't giving a pretty picture about Saddam. The teacher told the forces loyal to Saddam and they took the girl, after torturing her and letting her see how her father and one of her uncles were killed in front of her she was sent back home a few weeks later, she had been tortured til then. Her family in the States told the story in a hearing. That was not the only case, and other Iraqi dissidents came forth requesting for the US to go there and take care of Saddam.
This happened when Saddam was still in power.....

Another thing...if you are going to talk crap about the US forces.... you should become a soldier, and spend sometime in the battlefield. "After" you know what it is to be in combat then come back and say whatever you want to say. In the meanwhile you should be thanking those who have been keeping your sorry ass safe and free until now. One thing is to disagree with what the president is doing and saying what you think about that. The other is to talk crap about the US forces when they are the ones taking on all the heat.

Soldiers pay taxes too. Id really be silent on an issue you seem to have little knowledge about.

And Americans dont pay 50% of thier alaries in taxes. more like 10%-15%. I got money back from the gov this year. Federal income taxes are one small part of the taxes, social security and medicare comprise the rest.

Ill say it again: military has to pay taxes too. So, in part, we pay our own salaries too.

I'm sorry, but since I've saw dead bodies of americans being dragged, beated and hunged, I have absolutly no pity for any Irakis, be it civils or soldiers, so they can beat and kill as much as they want, they had it coming.

The thing is most US military personnel are probably not like you, are able to reason, excercise logic and are there so they can go to university and make something of themselves. Not just to see some action.

As for learning the dialect if the country, that's what a professional does. If it takes 6 months for you to learn a variety of important arabic phrases then I feel sorry for you. You can use a computer, I'm sure you could learn to use one of those pocket translator gizmos. Smoke that Jethro.

Its official you dont know anything about the military but you feel you have enough #bird knowledge to comment on it. I like hearing your input about the politics surrounding the war but spare tarnishing the name of the real people who have to fight it.
