www.stimuluswatch.org...

some of this is pretty pitiful...but i guess it's a start? what really leaps out at me are two things...how they're reaching for "stuff" to put on the list and also how overinflated all the dollar amounts seem.

P.S. Mods please move if in the wrong area...idn't know where to put it.)

all i hear in SC, is that Governor Mark Sanford has not made the
final decision to accept the Stimulus Package money earmarked for
the state of SC --> something in the neighborhood of $3+Billion

the State already has the conditional spending already in the works,
theres a PDF i looked over a few days back, and something like $453million was for highways (that 'shovel ready' qualifier)

i don't recall the rest of the proposed spending...
All i have to say is.... Governor Sanford, if the money comes with
'strings attached' let the US Treasury keep their money...

Instead, exercise the states sovereignty and take the same money as a
foreign aid package

+++++++++++++++

i went back to look for the link,
here's another instead,
(the hwys get $480M, i stand corrected)

i agree with that sentiment to a large degree...the federal strings really trouble me. just like with no child left behind and various other federal strings that just allow them to sink the hooks in deeper.
