    No it was a fake.

i'll try and find the news article but im pretty sure the leaked ones were found out to be totally fake.

Oscar organisers have dismissed a leaked list containing the names of winners of Hollywood's top prize as a fake.

Something is right in the world - Ledger won for his role for the Joker...

Predictable wins (except for Sean Penn) make for a predictable show. It was quite boring, and one of the few things I actually enjoyed was the five previous winners giving out the honors in the respected acting categories.

I had figured Mickey Rourke was a shoe-in as the Academy loves down and out actors who make a comeback. Mr Penn had already won, so I figured he wouldn't win this time. Oh, well.

Yep, that was the only part (and Heath's family) actually worth watching.
    Great format decision there...

I still think Slumdog should have been a "foreign" film contender though...just my own personal opinion there...

Sean Penn was certainly a surprise...but framing it with the fact most of the voters are in CA...guess we should have factored that in...

I didn't see Kate Winslet winning either...but glad she did...she seemed genuinely surprised, and I admire Anne Hathaway's class, as you could tell she was happy for her...(or maybe happy she didn't have to do a speech...who knows? hehe....)

I was zonked and nodded off early. How was Hugh Jackman as host?

Personally, I think Jon Stewart should host every year. But that's just me.

Hugh was actually pretty good, and considering the loose theme of the comeback of the musical and old Hollywood...he fit in well...

Actually, they have had movies appear in both best foreign and best movie categories before. "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was one such title, and I was hoping it would take nods in both categories, which would of been a first.

Not all the best pictures out there need to be American. Let's be honest, most of the movies made here are popcorn fests with very little substance. There is more excitement about a sequel to a toy commercial/cartoon in the 1980s, than any other film out there.

I am not being elitist, and do find much of the popcorn fare enjoyable. I think their reward is the box office, and that should be enough for those types of pictures.
