I wasn't aware George Lucas made a Orwellian movie in 1971 (THX 1138)

I deleted my entire post.

Oh well, stuff happens.

Orwell, 1984......George Lucas, the 'bible'.....'Star Wars', basically the 'bible'.....blah, blah, blah.

THAT was the gist of my post.

Lucas made a fortune, essentially, by re-writing the bible.

AND, turning it into a 'cash-cow' known as 'Star Wars'.

His work, "THX-1138", again, a rip-off....as noted.

Even "American Graffiti".....just a re-creation of his teenage experiences, with some "Grease" thrown in.......

EDIT for Doomsday.....Lisa Simpson holding the $9 sign.....when you can buy a bus ticket from Washington, DC to NYC for $1 nowadays....(really!!! Look it up!!!) Still, pretty funny!!!!

Yeah I seen it, still need to get it on dvd.

Nice and weird classic.

One of my favorite weird movies that would even fit this topic is Naked Lunch.

I was going to say, you could almost get away with listing directors... Terry Gilliam, Stanley Kubrick, David Cronenberg, Chris Marker, Luis Buñuel...
