Its easier for some company to add surcharges and hidden costs to your bill than it is with making the cash deposit.

Also, since they would have your cc number on file if you would have used that route, it would make it even easier for those sudden charges to appear on the bill.

Dont worry, they are the ones who are irresponsible. Be proud that you stood your ground and not given in to the cc card lure...which is what occured in recent past and caused all the cc card crisis. Too many fell for the cc lure bait and sank like a rock.

Cheers!!!!

Sounds like you will enjoy yourself during and after you get home, with vacation memories. For some people, they may be making payments on a vacation they can no longer remember.

The American economy has been on shaky ground for some time. The advice given to us after 9-11 to counteract its effects, "Go shopping!" was equal to saying, "Go into debt further!" for many Americans. The blind faith in less gov't regulation and oversight succeeded where Osama Bin Laden failed to bring down this economy.

By spending money debt-free you are helping this nation's economy. Now is not the time to do a 180 and not spend.

The person on the other end of the phone was irresponsible (and ignorant!) for saying what they said to you.
