I don't know about the rest of the gun owning world but I plan on making my bullets last longer then to weeks..... great article though I loved 11. basically win.

Interesting article. Not something I would ever really want to study. A gunfight is the last place on earth I hope I ever find myself.

While this article discusses how to prepare and survive a gunfight, read anything you can by a man named Massad Ayoob. He has studied, written, and trained more people on personal defense with and without a firearm than anyone I can think of.

Also, the NRA runs a class called Refuse to be a victim. Worth looking into.

A gun fight involves a good deal of chance and difficulties surviving, no matter how prepared you are. Best bet is learn how to avoid that entirely.

Not sure but I can give you a short summary of all you need to know about knife fights

At least knife-fights are toe-to-toe so you'll know who your attacker is, plus the added benefit that a blade-stab wound is easier to treat than gunshot

If I committed murder I would lie all the way to the gas chamber and there would be nothing funny about it. Even after they gassed me I would be swearing to God that I was only doing what was needed to save my own life. I would protest my innocence for the next billion years.

You never can tell when your going to get a sympathetic judge

Rule#1 of surviving gunfights:

Avoid them except when defending life and liberty. We're not talking modern guerilla warfare or urban combat. True survival boils down to taking in make oxygen, water and calories than you expend. Leaking blood through gunshot wounds isn't conducive to your health.

The idea here is to survive harsh and lean times. Few folks will have the time to practice war fighting or close combat drills. The 'rules of gunfighting' seem sound to me but I doubt I'll have time to hone them.

Didn't bother reading the article. If you must shoot, then shoot to kill and make damn sure they're dead when you're done. That's all.

One little comment. Bullet "proof" vest do NOT stop rifle rounds. Not even with the chest protector in place. Not even SEVERAL bullet "proof" vest with chest protectors.

Yup

Quickly, Calmly, Silently, and prerfably instantly from behind, then make sure the enemy is dead and the knife has his finger prints and DNA on it as well as yours. That way you can say He attacked you with a kinfe but you disarmed him and used it yourself in self defence.

That way this wonderful criminal loving bunch of socialist scum called New liebour will only send you down for 7 years and not 22.
