No one writes a 1100 page bill that fast. No one reads it. And passing it late on a Friday afternoon .... Suspect anything that happens too fast, and on a Friday afternoon after the week's news cycle is over. Maybe something good will happen and you can run that instead and then the media won't ever have to read it either - maybe the Pilot on the Hudson will get caught smoking out of a bong if the elite are lucky. Who knows?

At the risk of repeating myself, I say again that Congress has hired help whose job it is to WRITE and READ bills. If anyone in Congress thinks it needs more staff, I'm pretty sure Congress would be glad to accommodate. 38,000 divided by 541 equals 70 workers per Member of Congress. Seven-oh!

Get it straight please...

NOBODY READ IT!

And they voted it through..

If there is any misunderstanding in what I've just written, please READ IT again.

NOBODY READ IT.

And that's EXACTLY the way they wanted it. When an elected representative fails to represent the people that voted them into office. There is only one option left to exercise. And I think we all know what that option is...

And if you're a disinfo person from the government reading this. Tell your bosses they'd better understand exactly what they've done.

Because all doubt has been removed about the shills that are running America.

Every bill [read debt] is to collapse the money system to give way for Amero, NAU, Asian Union, NWO.

You and I know any fiat currency returns to zero intrinsic value.

So everyone, go get a printer and print money!

Wow. Everyone bashes the bill and I would bet my last dollar that most of you have no idea what is in it either. I have read the entire thing and i really don't have a problem with anything they are doing. Just about every part of it will create jobs.

Stimulus bill text

Forgive me but I dont believe you read it.

I guess I would be proud, if I lived in say, San Fransisco and cared about spending $30mil on saving the marsh's harvest mice.

But since I don't live there, I can't see how that will help me out.

But hey, I still get my $13 extra per paycheck!! Yippee!! Yay Stimulus!!

The 30 million to save the mice was never in the stimulus bill. Which is why you should never blindly believe what you read at blogs or hear politicians or radio talking heads spew forth. They never let the facts get in the way of a good talking point.

Turns out, there isn't a penny in the bill for mice. A Republican staffer claims someone at an unnamed agency said $30 million might go to federal wetlands restoration. Since San Francisco Bay has wetlands and some are home to an endangered species called the salt marsh harvest mouse, he naturally concluded, "The bottom line is, if this bill becomes law, taxpayers will spend 30 million on the mouse."

Information that has come out:

link to article: www.usnews.com...

LOBBYIST HAD THE BILL - WHEN Congress could NOT YET GET IT!!

We're receiving E-mails from Capitol Hill staffers expressing frustration that they can't get a copy of the stimulus bill agreed to last night at a price of $789 billion. What's more, staffers are complaining about who does have a copy: K Street lobbyists. E-mails one key Democratic staffer: "K Street has the bill, or chunks of it, already, and the congressional offices don't. So, the Hill is getting calls from the press (because it's leaking out) asking us to confirm or talk about what we know—but we can't do that because we haven't seen the bill. Anyway, peeps up here are sort of a combo of confused and like, 'Is this really happening?'" Reporters pressing for details, meanwhile, are getting different numbers from different offices, especially when seeking the details of specific programs.

Worse, there seem to be several different versions of what was agreed upon, with some officials circulating older versions of the package that seems to still be developing. Leadership aides said that it will work out later today and promised that lawmakers will get time to review the bill before Friday's vote.

Maybe, the Republicans had their rude awakening and might do a little better in the future.

Future? Are you kidding me?

Anyone that knows anything in the world and has the balls to say it, says we don't have much of a future left!

When the dollar collapses and we go into Hyperinflation like never before, what the hell is going to be left?

I hope all you people are enjoy the last couple of months right now.
You will not see it again for another 10 to 15 years..................
The only way to fix it and make it only 1 to 2 years, is to stand up.

Stand up, and I don't mean speak up. We spoke up, and it had no impact.

It wasn't a third, it was 20%. So, how does a tax cut not benefit anyone?
I, personally love when the government stays out of my pocket.

NOT from what I have read... Well in this case there is a $500.00 per $1,000 for couple for low to middle income TAX PAYING Americans - There has been a sizable slash in the (AMT), A special claus for small business that allows for five year long deduction as opposed to two...

Jesus, though last two tax items are thing conservative were calling for during the election.

There is a five hundred dollar increase to P grants, which will help AMERICA compete (IMO).

There is about 50 billion for states suffering from an influx of unemployed.

Anyways, there is nothing wrong with tax cuts IMO unless they target the top 1%
as was the case in 2001.

ALL and all I think some of you are going on hype, not reading. As I have said before, f this is a clear case of plenty of business to be had but little capital to invest and buy.

In that case the money supply NEEDS to increase,,, so unless all off you are going to invest half a trillion dollars soon??? Or end both wars abruptly? Or default on paid for unemployment and COBRA? DEFAULT SS checks?

What is your solution? Give billionaires tax cuts that will only be hoarded in such a crap economy?

Or give the money to new work and laidoff out sourced AMERICANS?
I think we all know there is not much hoarding going on in house holds across AMERICA.

AH and money all ways flow one way, out the bottom and DIRECTLY to the top.
DID you pay your mortgage? PHONE bill?Cell phone bill? Insurance? WE will.

Well said. We need more money in the economy. With more money we can replace debt. Banks serve to change money into debt. With actual money our economy can become real again.

I downloaded the package, and as a speed reader, I would need days and days to not only read it, but understand the implications and absorb the contents

Even the excel spreadsheets initially released were formatted in a Word document style, making it very difficult to crunch numbers without having to spend much time reformatting.

Unreal.

When speaking against the overwhelming majority, you should at least know something.
By the way, It's 6% to ya. The .5 rate is what they base on for bank to bank. The Fed has a built in non adjustable rate to screw all of us in the end. The only part you have right, is it's all made up crap.
The bad part, is if we just let it go, it will be alot worse than the 1930s.

I just don't think you understand what is happening here. We are trying to save debt that should be destroyed, and inflating a demand bubble that isn't there. We've heard many in the industry and in government say this very thing. Creating artificial demand bubbles destroy economies down the road. What we are experiencing right now is a manipulated market, not a free-market meltdown. And this isn't socialism, it's fascism.

It's funny how the media doesn't mention this fact either. It's totally understandable for you to feel outraged. Can you imagine what the world thinks of us?

Hey, I guess it's okay with me...As long as I get my $1,000,000 grant from the government to pay for my ant-mating research, I'm fine. (That's on page 954 of the bill, by the way.)

You can view and download the bill from:

www.readthestimulus.org...

Or from the speaker's site:

www.speaker.gov...

The excel spreadsheet is from the Jan 15th version, and has been reformatted for number crunching by the folks at readthestimulus.org, and is available at:

Reading and understanding are not the same. Reading that X number of dollars goes to this or that project is not being informed unless you know the project and etc. i repeat that being critical is OK but not that they did not READ the bill. I am sure (without knowing) many of the 38,000 employees of the Congress read the bill.

I marvel how so many who made no challenge to Newt or Dennis but who now feign worry over Nancy. Maybe it's because she is patently smarter then the first two?

I'm sure you're correct that most congressmen have read the bill to some degree. My problem with this situation is the fact that Pellosi and her cohorts edited the bill by themselves late Wednesday and did not make the text of their changes available till 11:00 PM Thursday, 10 hours before the vote. You can't tell me that is acceptable for a bill of this magnitude. Hell, even looking at the PDFs available doesn't really reveal anything. It's stuff written in the margin like "insert 1A". Well what the heck is 1A. No inserts are listed in the bill or on the site that I saw, so who knows what the heck was added.

Oh and if you think Pellosi is intelligent you are quite mistaken in my opinion. The woman needs to be on meds. She's a post-menopausal nutjob.

Ive said it before, I will say it again: WHO keeps voting these worthless people back into these positions? And Obama is their pet. They keep him on a leash and tell him to sit or roll over and he does. Then they put him up on a pedestal and say: awwww look, hes awesome, hes the best - here is his blue ribbon!

There is a reason I did not vote for Obama. He has no backbone. No balls. He has zero capability of running this country and obviously he doesn't have the best interest of us little people on his mind.

Who keeps voting these people in?

Answer: the people here on ATS and elsewhere that love to call themselves "progressives".

The same people you see on here complaining now because the "change" they fell in love with and voted for has turned out to be the big lie many of us said it would be ...

Next time before you vote for another one of these fellow "progressives"., consider California, where the socialism experiment is failing right before our eyes. They seem to have tried to fund "taking care of everyone" on good intentions alone. Now these so-called "progressives" want to try the same thing on a national scale.

You hit the nail on the head. Who in their right mind would agree to sign anything revised by Nancy's gang without reading it? I trust her as far as I can throw her.
