www.newsnet5.com...

At this point in time web based media has very little about the crash, 49 dead at least on board. At least 50 people on the continental airlines flight.

Plane crashes are always terrible and this is just why i hate flying. Hopefully more news to come some fairly good pictures on tv at the moment though. As i said this is very fresh im sure there will be more to come. Apparantly it was over a housing district aswell so it may be a lot worse than first reported.

Yah since I reported this on another thread and didn't wanna start one myself, I got the scoop.

The plane had 49 but the planes carrying capacity was 40.

Just updating cuz thats why I come on ATS, always got the latest info faster than the MSM.

Good lookin out ATS.

Fox News said that there have been heavy winds all along the eastern seabord all day. They are still uncertain of the cause, though.

Terrible news. I live in Des Moines and the final approach is over my house and sometimes those airplanes flying over scare the crap out of me. When these things happen it makes me that more freaked out. My thoughts go out to the families who are going to be going through something so terrible.. Such a tragic thing..

What are you talking about? Where did the extra 9 people sit? In the aisle or in the lap of other passengers?

MSNBC's website is currently reporting that the plane was a 50-passenger craft carrying 48 people--44 passengers and 4 crew members; all are believed to be dead. www.msnbc.msn.com...

I can't imagine how the friends and family of passengers must be feeling right now. What awful news.
