I saw the first signs with the rise of the .coms. I also ran a sweet business manufacturing some crazy computers parts. I thought to myself, is anyone going to buy all these little software aps that others invested billions in with IPOs? Will people buy a book from 40 other online stores other than Amazon, no.

All of a sudden we had a Starbucks, Home depot, and Cold Water Creek, Walmart every 30 miles. Would we have 4x as many people all of a sudden to buy from these stores, no.

We had people living in and buying 3500sq ft homes on a quarter acre lot for $400,000-$1,000,000 each in good old cold New England. They were also driving 2-3 full size brand new SUVs. My wife asked how are all these people affording this?

They could not afford it. It was all credit and here are the results!

IMHO the only way i can see us surviving after this GLOBAL KATIRNA without hurting one another or creating violent riots with one another is to come together now and work on an alternative solution NOW!! not when it happens.

The only way i can see us acting our part is to join one another consciously through the Zeitgeist Movement (thezeitgeistmovement.com...) and the worldwide ZDAY March 15th 2009 movement which will consciously envelope mostly all who are peeed off with this system, because the timing will be perfect and it's funny how that that is. Time for a new system a 'Resource Based System where people come first not profit first, i say yes to 'The Venus Project' it's meant to be.

Capitalism, fascism, communism and socialism, will ultimately go down in history as failed social experiments.

Aye...

Where the Mayan calenders (note: it is plural, there were many calendars the Mayans kept), are all based off cycles, there was no way of them knowing any of this happening. You really have to look at Hopi prophecy, which does speak of a World War 3 event...

The Mayans did have it right though, about the cycles. Everything truly is cyclic in some form or another. It is the 'wheel of time' of evolution, and our existence on this planet is not immune to this wheel of time.

My advice:

Get in touch with your higher/inner/spiritual/subconscious self. Governments are the herds of the species who no longer rely on their instincts to get by day to day. Through evolution, we have replaced our instincts with a more enlightened aspect of our lives called intuition.

In a time of global conflict and disarray, it really is common sense to understand that the vibration of energy on this planet will be heavily distorted. When the majority of the planet's inhabitants are in survival mode, scared, a feeling of helplessness... this will have a profound impact on our environment, just as much and if not more then the exterior problems we have created for ourselves. Look at every single record being broken in the past few years in the geological field; most tornadoes in a season, worst hurricane season, most deaths during an earthquake, wildfires, etc... There is no such thing as coincidence.

The more you are in tune with your self, the more time you spend focusing inward on the conflicts you face personally, the more balanced your spirit will become. Therefore, your temperance will create a calming aura throughout your environment. You will literally raise your vibration. Realistically, all light and sound is vibration, so the higher your own spiritual vibration is, you will literally be seen as a beacon of light in a dark, distorted era of our race. For me, this is the best way you could ever prepare for these coming times, beyond taking care of your external, materialistic needs such as gold, clothing, food, etc...

"The future is being created every day... and it's being changed every day; based on our thoughts."

Don't forget to remember this.

The best thing for all of us to do is to just be prepared.

Keep a disaster kit, a survival book, a first aid book, a first aid kit, flashlights, batteries, tents, blankets, extra food, etc...

Have a place in mind you can go to if you need to leave your city. You might find that others have thought of that place, too, which could be a good thing. You'll have company!

Put a disaster plan in place with your family in other areas of the country, in case we lose electricity or communication lines.

Attitude is everything. Those with the most positive attitude in any disaster always do better than those who lose their cool.

Realize that nothing in life is certain; there is only the illusion of certainty. When you realize that nothing is certain, that things could become chaotic at any minute, you stop being scared about it, and you just start planning for it, in case it should happen.

Then just take a deep breath, and relax, knowing that if disaster does happen, there is nothing you can do about it. Just enjoy each day you have, and if disaster does strike: think of it as a challenge.

I figure, I got myself through crisis after crisis when I was terribly sick for years, by relying on myself, and not relying on anyone else but myself. So, if something terrible does happen, I know that I'll be just fine by relying on myself again. Self-sufficiency is the key.

I don't have a weapon and I refuse to buy one. After all, a gun is only useful if you have bullets, and eventually, if society does collapse, you're going to run out of bullets. Rather, I just have faith that I'll be able to handle any situation that I need to by relying on my intuition and my wits and my skills.

Hmmmm......although maybe I'll take a martial arts self-defense course, though, just to be safe!!

suppose we all started thinking about what we can do to help others in this forthcoming crisis? i am in the tree business and follow the hurricanes. usualy there is no power, gas, or anyplace to stay after a major storm. i have lived in the campgrounds with people washed out of their houses and left penniless. what i have found is that in crisis, people come together. in the way of helping others, we help ourselves.

we have seen what the illusionary god of mammon has provided for us. rampant consumerism, fueled by unbridled greed; coupled with false promises of security.

basicly, we need food, shelter, and water. my grandfather did not even have running water; and, he was wealthy! we have come through so many changes. technology has been used to entrap not free us.

when we can truly work together, great technological marvels are on the horizon.

low cost energy for one. also they can grow new throats for people now from stem cells. think of the implications of that.

i agree we all need to stockpile food at this time. whats a year's woth of beans and rice go for these days? if we can make it through these changes and stick together, maybe we can make our own future.

looks to me like the intangible world is falling to pieces, but look around you. all the stuff is still here. community. that's how they did it in the old west under anarchy.
we need to trust ourselves and not the solutions presented to us by the social hierarchies.

find a craft or skill that people are gonna need. were gonna have to make a choice.
think about what it might be like and what you can contribute to your families and community.

just since i have been talking about this stuff since the early nineties; i have three different survival groups around the country that want to take me in.

eric rudolph survived in the woods for nearly 6 years i think--while still evading one the largest federal manhunts ever. of course, he was caught while dumpster diving!

faith and purpose--we all have purpose, let's make it a good one. believe in that and you will find a way. we have the opportunity to take it all back. don't let fear rule, please!

my father said the same thing to me recently. when i asked why, he replied that, "if the time should come that i am need of a weapon, i will be able to pick one up off the ground from the dead guy in front of me." true that.

one thing that has not been covered yet in this thread is THE BOMBS.

...

...power was out here for a few hours last saturday. i couldnt help but think that something horrible could be happening somewhere in the world and i would be totally unaware. definitely time to fix that problem...

It is my opinion that we are already in a depression, the media has just refused to report the truth. I don't think society will completely break down, but I think things will continue to get worse before they get better. The bottom will come sometime in 2010, or maybe late 2009, but I doubt it. Food or water will not be a problem in the U.S., but will be a serious problem in most of the rest of the world. I expect a time of considerable innovation, which will lead to more economic freedom from corporations. The internet may not survive, or will be greatly reduced. This economic downturn in the long run will probably be better for us, as was the last great depression. People are a lot more resilient than most would believe.

I do fully realize the implications this upcoming collapse will have on my life....i have prepared for over a year now after my eyes being opened to what really goes on in this world.I guess it all stems from a hunger like no other to end this cycle of work, come home, make dinner,go to bed, repeat. All the while being raped of the phony paper we call money that i busted my @ss for so it can go to something that i do not want,ie bailouts and stimulus. I am not afraid to die,I am afraid of continuing to live in this greed driven world and a country that millions have sacrificed their lives for.

The future...It doesn't look good, does it? I have been preparing in ernest for the last year, putting together emergency water & food supplies and emergency gear should we have to become mobile to survive. One cannot prepare for every unforseen future event. But, if we can we should try to do our best, for the sake of our families and friends.

I recently purchased a great 450 page survival book by Cody Lundin titled When All Hell Breaks Loose. This book covers how to survive in urban as well as rural situations. It is written in clear understandable terms by a person who is able to explain unfamiliar concepts. I have no financial interests in the book, just found it very helpful. You can read of it and order at:

www.amazon.com...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234533198&sr=1-1

I have used the following sources for long-term food and water supplies, & equipment, and can highly recommend them:

beprepared.com...

store.honeyvillegrain.com...

A good beginners article to read on the subject of survival is:

could it be, that this guy, Peter Schiff and the small handful of others talking this way are part of the govt smoke and mirrors, are they scaring us enough that when things get a little worse we flip out and revolt riot what ever and martial law is needed to keep us from killing each other?

Remember the LA riots? I remember Mayor tom bradley saying things like, dang, now I can't remember exactly, but what he said implied "Don't Riot"...........Look what happened. In my opinion he instigated those riots....No one seemed to see that. I thought that was odd.

What are the predictions doing to us now? Are you and I going to be shooting at each other cause we are hungry, instead of working together and help one another?

Just a thought.

Did you guys note what he says about crime, kidnappings like third world and underdeveloped countries etc, half way through the Vid.

This guy has some interesting, yet disturbing things to say. He has been forecasting trends in the US for twenty years.

Look at this, posted here on this thread.www.abovetopsecret.com...

VID LINK

Congratulations Phoenix, Arizona! You have become the kidnap capital of the the United States of America. I'm sure it has nothing to do with your sanctuary policies for illegal aliens and the drug cartels that roam free in your streets. As the video points out below, this is something you expect to see in Iraq or Latin America or Mexico, but nope, you're seeing this in Phoenix, Arizona - the city More..
