Russian, U.S. satellites collide in space

The collision on Tuesday produced two large debris clouds, NASA said. The satellites collided at 10 kilometers (6 miles) per second, producing 500-600 new pieces of space debris, the U.S. Strategic Command said.

Sorry I missed this light show. Guess they got their launch coordinates mixed up.

Don't they track these paths so that there is no overlay or orbits?

Can only imagine the traffic up there. So if your mobile is not connecting today on your motorola you can attribute it to this collision. I don't have a cell phone so no worries for me.
