I don't really see why ISP throttling has anything to do with the Stimulus. This is just utter ridiculousness, and I hope she doesn't get away with it.

"Reasonable network management" my ass. I'm sure she misspoke, meaning to say "spying on all of you all the time!"

Yes, I agree that child pornography super sucks, and should be stopped. But there are other ways of doing it. Like getting a warrant so you can throttle only suspected CP connections. There is no reason to watch all of our connections.

I don't believe there are cameras in our TVs. There's no reason to put them there, when you can get much more information about people from the sites they visit and post on!

Just more pork and substantial kickbacks to the sponsors, using the tired old reason "It's for the children!" that no one will speak out about as they are afraid of being tarred and feathered.
There is so muck pork, and the framework for government controlled health care based on "economically proper treatments" that the stock market is going into depression.
There is no bailout, unless you are very rich, and only new government agencies, departments, projects, and money for democratic "friends".
(which is why almost no repubs support it, they aren't getting their slice of the pig.)

Maybe it's me, but it sure looks like it is an excuse to poke around in the ISP's business - and the subscribers' as well.

Paper it with "child porn" and call it "good." Then the sheep will buy it and we can move all the closer to taking full control...

So they get everyone on-board by deterring child porn and copyright infringement, then use "other unlawful activity" to ban the other 95% of the internet that everyone likes.

It's a slippery slope here, you start banning some things, and soon you can ban anything. They need to just let the internet be free, and prosecute child pornographers the old fashioned way, by catching the ones that go after real kids.

And copyright infringement is bogus. Movies and music are loaded with product placements these days anyway, like watching 3 hour glorified commercials. Art is free and it always will be.

As an artist, I agree with you, but you're right. There are so many of us who disagree with you. I actually recently got into a disagreement with a friend of mine who was pissed off about his art being used on shirts. Said it was making him lose money.

He wasn't selling that art in any way, at all. And the people who made those shirts, didn't sell them either. They made them for their own use.

What?! How is this possible? This smells like censorship. I have been led to believe it is evil Republicans who want to limit our freedoms, not the freedom-loving Democrats.

How is this not starred and flagged? Is this not as important as "UFOs are from other planets" and "Psychic Attack/Astral Abuse through the chakras"
being from Canada, the RIAA has no power up here, but the Canadian version will be on this bandwagon soon imho...keep the internet free!!

Last time I checked, ISPs already did this anyways.

I think, all Politicians need to leave the internet alone.
I think the next Politician who try's to mess with the internet, should be arrested.
Because clearly, just to want to mess with it, shows they have been bribed by some corporation.
They need to be investigated.
