Associated Press...

For years, futurists have dreamed of machines that can read minds, then act on instructions as they are thought. Now, human trials are set to begin on a brain-computer interface involving implants.

Cyberkinetics Inc. of Foxboro, Mass., has received Food and Drug Administration approval to begin a clinical trial in which four-square-millimeter chips will be placed beneath the skulls of paralyzed patients.

If successful, the chips could allow patients to command a computer to act - merely by thinking about the instructions they wish to send.

i dont want any computer chips in my body no matter what "they" say its for...

it is kinda cool though, the fact that all you have to do is think and make it happin on a computer is pretty cool. it could lead to horrible things in the future...

It can totally lead to horrible things, but this is one step closer to letting people process information and increase memory (i.e. download knowledge). oh, it's going to wreak havoc in society in the long run, but it's nonetheless interesting in it's beginning stages.

...and they said "A Brave New World" and "1984" were horrifying!! The truth of what is being done is far worse than those fictional accounts.

Actually both: 160 IQ, and a member of the insiders "Fabian Socialist Society" in Britain where they actually spoke about and worked on plans in conjunction with the Round Table, The Royal Institute for International Affairs, The Milner Group, Tavistock Institute, etc...to bring about just such a world.

lets just hope that the chips won't be using windows otherwise the patients are gonna c blue for a looooong time

Imagine what would happen if u could hack into those chips while they're in the brain. or if they got a virus. or if they crashed

That sounds pretty cool. This will be a neat little thing for medical use.
