“While I was reading and making a computerized index to the FBI COINTELPRO Chicago files on Fred Hampton and the Chicago Black Panther Party I found an entry by a FBI agent that said, ‘An informer William O'Neil had added sleeping medicine into the kool-aid that Fred would drink each night. So that he would be passed out when the police attacked the house where Fred and others were sleeping.’ William O' Neil did the deed.

This article is great because it has exclusive information from the FBI files. Roz Payne who went through the files was able to give first hand knowledge of what she read. This proves that the FBI and COINTELPRO were responsible for the murder of Fred Hampton. Fred Hampton is never heard about during Black History Month and neither are many panthers. I read some poems about Fred Hampton here and there and heard him mentioned in Dead Prez albums but articles are hard to find.
