OK guys I actually asked this guy to upload this awesome video he captured during a shoot for his surf video Stretching The Canvas (2009).

www.chaseburns.com.au is his site for more info. I asked a friend of his to upload it, but you know surfers can be a bit slack, so I took the privilege. (I'm going to get his 1st print of the video hopefully soon to upload). I really can not explain this other than it is a .... UFO!

Ya the quality is really poor to what the DVD is...

I ripped the vob file with video4web from 82mb VOB to 24mb mp4...then uploaded.

I'm looking how to upload even better quality...any help would be great?

Wouldn't happen to have Adobe CS3?

You can import the 80mb video into Premiere and export it back out again using a compression codec to lower it down.

Or you could using Premiere to separate it into two separate halves then upload both to ATS media.

Except, Vimeo use godawful compression techniques to make high definition videos look like dog droppings. Plus, this is a VOB file off a DVD, uploading to Vimeo won't magically transform a dvd resolution into "high definition", it will only make it crummier and jerkier and like YouTube but worse! I advocate using a VOB-splitter program to split the vobs into halves and then upload them to ATS Media.

Regarding the footage itself, I was disappointed that the filmer took everything all too lightly, which makes it a bit suspicious to me. The guy in the helmet didn't seem to have much of a reaction. It seemed they were more intent on making silly alien noises and talking like a surfer dude than being serious about the subject matter. If it were me, I'd sound a bit more excited and not so detatched from the situation at hand.

So, for me, I think he's just pulling a fast one here. RC toy.

And if that's high above the clouds, which it looks to be. It's pretty big. IMO.

It's a matter of perspective.
It could be a lot closer than what it appears.
