The BBC has a very interesting article today about a new space telescope that the European Space Agency will be putting up soon, bigger than Hubble, and to be the biggest in space until probably the 2013 James Webb telescope .

It looks to be about one meter larger than the Hubble, and is more focused in the "far-infrared and sub-millimetre range". In the diagram on the article, they show this as "radio".

Maybe if there are aliens out there, this could be the thing to find them? It should be way more powerful than doing it from on the planet, and recently new exoplanets have been found, including some of a similar size to earth, we might be able to find more, and scan them for signals.

This is pretty exciting stuff!
