Damn, I am certainly not looking forward to everyone having a fair share and I would hate to see the top 2% have to give up any of their millions of dollars to help the poor. And I definitely don't want universal health care, because I love the pain from this old ballet injury!

All i know is the government continues to take more and more of my money through taxes or inflation without my consent because the powers that be decide it's ok to do so.

You want to call it something....why don't you call it stealing...because that is what it really is.

Milton Friedman must be rolling in his grave.

It really is becoming much more a Corporatocracy state than Socialist. You guys are still miles away from anything resembling a true Socialist state.

'Fair share' is what you work for and earn.
Handing my hard earned $$ over to someone else is not fair.
Therefore - that's not a 'fair share'.
That's just stolen by them.

Oh you're right.

What I meant to say was, I certainly am not looking forward to the gap between the rich and the NORMAL CITIZENS to shrink.

You're right. Who cares about our fellow man? You've got a WoW addiction to feed, and you definitely need that second mansion!

there is a lot of worrying in this thread but think about it, you can go from rags to riches STILL as long as you are a hard worker and innovative and take the risk.

like I said, I started my Health Care Company from scratch with a 50 dollar How-To book and a loan from a stranger.

Now I'm living it up.

You are aware that the super rich are basically the ones who pay all our taxes, correct? I believe the top 10% pay something like 80% of all our taxes, while the top 20% pay like 95%... Meanwhile, the middle class pays 2.5% of all taxes... Do you really want to see this shift?

It is not the governments right to worry about our fellow man. This is a democratic republic, not communism. The government is appointed by us, the American people. We do not work for the government, the government works for us, or at least that was the way it was supposed to be.

If you wish to worry about your fellow man, then I would consider donating money, clothes, and food to the cause. You do not need to push your big government agenda on me to achieve this.

Really? Because you're certainly trying to push your small government agenda on me. I guess that's just par for the course though.

My mother went from making $50 grand just last year, to making $20 grand in a single month, as a new small business owner in January of this year. The american dream is very much so alive. I on the other hand am a simple college student just trying to get by. I however aspire to make lots of money some day, and I will not be paying for my "fellow man" just because he does not wish to work hard like me.

The american dream still exist, my mother is living proof. She is expected to make well over 200k this year as a small business owner. Yet she can be expected to pay her fair share of taxes under Obama. My mother is by no means a wealthy individual. She is not some flashy millionaire, she is simply trying to get by just like anyone else. This class envy warfare needs to stop. Work hard to achieve great things... Quit leeching off of the upper class society.

I can agree as long as you in the future make clear that it's , as in most imperial/despotic countries, socialism for the rich and as severe a type of capitalist , presuming the people have advanced somewhat along the line of gaining individual rights, as those with power can enforce on those they wish to continue exploiting.

Thanks.

Stellar

Well, 300k = 99 percentile

so, your mother is in the 97 percentile

in terms of income in America

and consider this, 95 percent of the world is poor.

to me, nobody is leeching off anybody, the Politicians use income and status as a way to divide us.

Obviously you don't. If you did, then you wouldn't be calling for people to STEAL from those of us who work for a living. That's not 'fair share'. That's just theft.

And what about those who can't put in a day's work because of the SUPER AWESOME COOL RICH PEOPLE SAVIORS~~~ who would rather keep every extra dime they make than use some of it to make some new jobs?

And what about those who put in a days work but hardly get compensated because of the SUPER AWESOME COOL RICH PEOPLE SAVIORS~~~ who (never having had to experience what it's like to be on the bottom) would rather keep every extra dime they make than use some of it to pay their workers slightly better?

I highly encourage conservatives to never forget people who actually voted their candidates into the presidency for the last 100 years or so

You know, those "hard" working SSI and other government programs subscribers (gun lovin' 3 times/week church goers) who live in suburbs or a country side...

All those are OK to be supported by conservatives (who by the way also get FREE government sponsored health insurance) why I'm working hard on my REAL job and being "scared" into making overtime, cuz I'm gonna be, of course, taxed MORE if I do.

So much for trying to make more money, while I have to pay $100 /week for my health insurance (for 80% coverage only)...

Talking about fairness here, yeah, riiiight, while those who earn much more then I do are taxed LESS the more they make

Yes thats right. But like I pointed out earlier we have some semantics problems here. People are rotating around classic interpretations.

When the government takes tax money however gained and gives it to others to level the field or whatever, to that degree it is socialism supported by the gains of others.

Actually, I hate hearing people whine about high taxes as taxes are low in this country relative to other industrialized countries. Additionally, as governments get smaller they become MORE vulnerable to corruption and manipulation due to decreased checks and balances. The opposite is true as well, to large and the hurdles can become overbearing as well, it is a balance really. Not paying taxes and NOT being arrested are easy for all those who whine about taxes...

Direct Barter!

Trade stuff directly, no currency, no taxes. Your taxes are a "currency fee", in short a fee for using currency the government manufacturers, this fee is used to stabilize the system and insure the value of government/currency. If you want a true free market with no government induced friction, direct bartering only. Of course it is difficult to horde wealth with direct barter, and cause of the difficulty in hording wealth EVERYONE will have to work regardless of disability...

Their was the gold standard...of course it can be shaved, cornered, attacked and is unstable as anything when mandated as currency.

Anyone who thinks the US system is "socialism" confuses me...I've never heard of ANY government mandated workforce democracy yet.

I used to hear this argument in college about gasoline prices. How were were paying a dollar a gallon and the French were paying 5$. Then I discovered this was becouse of tax on the gas not really market factors.

So who cares that the rest of the industrialized nations pay in tax? They have massive and bloated parasitical socialist pro programs to feed. And for all that no guns.
