Hey y'all, here's a primer on US history of state sovereignty real quick:

This is not a guarantee of "secession". It is not even an act.
Maybe now you guys will learn what the difference is.

For those who say Civil war is the last thing we need now, when is it a good time? When the economy is good, and jobs are plentiful? When congressmen and the office of the president ignore the will of the people, and are violating the constitution, that's when it comes, and that is when it needs to come. However, remember how India was conquered. Britain leveraged groups to fight against each other until they were too weak to resist British rule to 'save' them. Beware the hidden hand.

How about AFTER we give the new president we just voted in a shot!

.... I hate to dig up old politics, and I'm not trying to, but the last 8 years saw the Fed Gov completely disregard states rights.

I always found that amusing, since George ran as a Republican.

I can't really see there NOT being a civil war.
My prediction is Empire vs Rebels, you know the usual, tapering off into a Religious vs Non-Religious war, followed by a chance of showers.

Maybe it'll turn out all right? I dunno, good things came out of your last civil war

That sounds like a blast! And it could call attention to the sheep that it is time to walk away from their dull existences and try something that is getting back to where we came from.

Nonsense

These States have passed simple resolutions, reinforcing the Rights they already have. None of them are Succeeding and the only talk of Civil War is a tiny number of radicals on the Internet. The number of people interested in Civil War would probably not even make a good crowd at an NFL Game.

My guess is they are responding to the Democratic Party having complete control of Government. The Democratic Platform has leaned towards Big Government and less State Rights for many decades now. It is hardly a secret.

The Democrats, for the next two years will have the power to do a lot of damage. They could reinvent and reconstitute the Welfare Programs that took us so long to get rid of and bury the States in Mandated Big Government Programs.

The States are struggling and don't need to be hit with things like Socialized Medical Care mandated by a out of control Far, Far, Left Pelosi driven Congress.

Even if Obama wanted a Bi-Partisan Government that served the people, he will never get it. Pelosi runs the country now from her mini-Air Force One that her and her friends fly around in.

Obama will likely find himself either having to Veto the Bills written by his own Party or he will have to cede control to Pelosi whom I've lovingly come to think of as, the "Wicked Witch of the Far Left". I don't think a bucket of water will work with her however
Obama will need a full arsenal. A Cross, Holy Water, Garlic, Wooden Stakes, Silver Bullets and bushels of Sage burning in the White House Fireplace.

Obama is a figurehead at this point and he can only do what the DNC and Pelosi allow him to do. Not his fault. It is just the way it is. Letting one Party have this much power is madness at best. To bad people did not think of that when they were voting. We replaced one mess with a new different mess.

I hear you man, and I'm not even from the right-wing US but the UK (lefty-wing land!).
I said to people. Take McCain and Obama - Better the devil you know than the devil you DON'T!
Well the poor rose-tinted folk voted for the devil they don't know and now everyones got a sht sandwich to bite out of.
Socialism is the road to Communism!
What's happening right now in Capitol hill reeks of the former.

It'll get worse but it will get better

It's not that it is not being taken seriously...it's that the media are controlled. The PTB really don't want you to think about these moves. They don't want you to realize the power your have in numbers.

If the numbers are not informed... Then the numbers will not join together in any effort to extract themselves from the run-amok government that is no longer ours.

Even after martial law is lifted, some states could decide to separate and choose autonomy then independance. Big government has just grown too big and does not respect the Constitution and sooner or later people will rise and it is not going to be pretty.

Def agree with you. Our government is just too big for it's own good....or bad..

Power and greed can corrupt anyone and I can see the people in power not wanting to have less power once they have had a lot. It's like How an athlete is used to having making tons of money and they are reluctant to retire because they don't want to not make that money any more.

Something definitely has to be done though.

Why not cut out the addtional transfer and let the states keep their money. I keep hearing about the feds cutting off funds to impose control but they don't realize that if the citizens and the states stop paying then their piggy banks will run out quickly. The only way to scale back the federal government is by limiting the money that gets taken from us.

Bush's $800,000,000,000 + Obama's $800,000,000,000 = $1.6 trillion.

$1,600,000,000,000 / about 325,000,000 legal US citizens = about $5,500 per person.

A family of 4 could have received $22,000.

THAT would have stimulated the economy. The bail out packages are a complete joke.

The politicians will give 1.6 trillion to the fortune 500 CEOs and in turn, the fortune 500 CEOs will keep those same politicians in office.

The civil war has already started. It is fortune 500 board of directors and politicians versus Americans who make less then $100,000 a year.

We need to start fighting back. Some where, some how, we need to start organizing.

These occasional bizarre stories coming out of Russia about America falling apart are very real.

So, are we going to organize or are we just going to whine about it?

I am very much okay with a new America splitting away, state by state, from the old. We can reunite as one nation later after the cancer, Washington DC has been removed.

Move the capital to Denver; it's a safer place for it anyway. Or somewhere in that part of the country.

But before we all get in tow with this, what is going to be so great about the new America compared to the old?

I would like to see the nation's government capital (DC) and financial capital (NYC) moved to the central US.

The UN should be moved from country to country on a yearly basis. Make them work out of trailers for all I care. The UN is just another big scam anyway on a corporate and government level.

US solders should be allowed to choose between fighting for the USA or fighting for the UN.

A 26 state majority should be allowed to overrule a federal government's decision.

The US Presidential election should be decided by popular vote only. The electoral college should be thrown in the garbage.

If a senator wants a raise, their state shuld be able to vote on it.

Term limits for mayor to President and everything in between. 10 years max. A 4 year term, reelected to a 3 year term, reelected to a 2 year term, reelected to a final 1 year term. 10 years max.

The only time the federal military can operate on US soil is when there is war on our own soil in at least two states. This can be overruled on a per crisis basis by a 26 state majority.

"All people are created equal regardless of race, sex, and/or religion." Getting rid of the phrase "All men are created equal."

An amendment to the constitution; "Any human being who works for less then minimum wage inside the US or for a US owned company will be considered a slave and the representing employer will be punished accordingly as an employer of illegal salves."

Age of consent is 18. A 16 or 17 year old may consent to someone no older then 19.

Legal drinking age is 21. 18-20 if you are a veteran of war.

Voting, alcohol, and tobacco are privileges, not rights. To participate with any, you will be required to show your ID regardless of age. If you have lost the legal privilege, the ID will clearly state it.

Opinions?

Sounds pretty good...

The 26 States/51% might get some flack, some may go for the 2/3 or even 3/4 option...51% would get things done faster, Instead of waiting for 2/3 or 3/4 to come to a concensus.

Do we really need to take Wall St with us...just leave it's dead carcus where it lays...maybe turn it & DC into some historic attraction and charge admission

Get Rid of The Fed & IRS...go back to Commodity based Commerce

Have States gather concensus on what Commoditys would be used to base trade on IE: Gold/Silver/Copper, and what value they would carry IE: 1/8 Oz Silver per Hr of Labor...then define Commoditys on what people think their worth IE: Loaf of Bread 15 Minutes of Work 1/24 Oz Silver...SET IT AND LEAVE IT or Barter/haggle like the old days

Send it to Devner and have 50 Reps draw it up and have the people vote on it

Get your Concensus, pick your Canidates, and get 'em Dressed

PS: Nice Flag...what's that all about? Your new Star Spangled Banner?
Jericho huh?

All just ranting dribble from this end...like throwing spagetti at a wall and seeing how much sticks...

I am flexible on the new America. The flag is from the tv show sabotaged by CBS, Jericho.

I also believe in getting rid of the federal reserve and the IRS. One tax rate for all of America. And if you make less then $25,000 a year, you don't pay taxes. What little that person does pay won't matter anyway.

And a tax break for people with 2 and 3 jobs. But I'll get into that later. Need to get to work while we are still in business.

The second civil war has already begun. And the good guys are losing because we have not begun to fight back.

This has nothing to do with secession or revolt.

It has to do with the increasing effort on the part of the corporate federal government to delegate federal authority to politically relevant corporations and 'contracted' agencies in their place.

autowrench: This is correct. The corporate government we live beneath has no right, under the Constitution or other wise, to impose Federal Law on citizens of a State that does not want those laws to be implemented there. Our government is an agent of the People, not the other way around.

That was just on example. The Federal government is 'moving in' on many states, telling them what they can and cannot do with their own land, what rules they must or must not 'over-rule' locally, and worse. NAFTA was among the first blatant and egregious assaults on State's rights.

In California, State sanctioned (legal) Medical Marijuana use was directly - and violently - disrupted by FEDERAL agents (and some 'security contractors' of note).

Imagine having a license to drive in your home state, but a Federal agent can arrest you because your driving without a 'federally approved' license? It's along those lines. The Federal government has been successfully recasting it's role in the country as that of "Ruler" as opposed to the "Servant" it is Constitutionally meant to be. These state's proposed legislation are a direct challenge to that effort.

autowrench: Again, true and correct. Federal Law can only exist if the People wish it to, and then it extends to only 100 feet outside Washington D.C. Even the FBI has no business in a State unless invited by the State to be there. They are not our servants anymore, they are our masters, and this must stop now.

nenothtu

If the Constitution is suspended, does that not mean that the instrument granting the federal government any right to exist at all is suspended, nullifying the legitimacy of said entity? Would suspension of the constitution not be tantamount to suicide of the federal government?

That is just the thing....the Constitution belongs to "We the People," not the Government of the People. It is a Contract, under the Articles of Confederation that give the government certain powers not to be misused in any way. All power not given to the government belongs to the State, and to the people. We the People can take that power back anytime we wish to, for any good reason, and believe me, I can think of a lot of good reasons to do this.

All that need to happen if for the States to throw out the Federal Government, and declare themselves free of the bankruptcy perpetuated by the government. If only one State does this,, others will follow shortly after.

Civil War is not the answer, the answer lies in the State's willingness to stand up to the FED.
Other nations are tired of US Corporate Greed, and will be more than willing to deal without still tariffs on everything, and companies will be happy to build if no IRS collecting illegal income tax exists. A Confederation of States will be recognized by the rest of the world, and all Federal lands in the State can be taken back and used for the State. For instance, a State located in the South, with two growing seasons, could grow hemp, and make millions for themselves in doing so. Many products can be manufactured from hemp, and the oil from hemp can be burned in an automobile engine. Food products can be traded with other States, they cannot do this now, farmers must sell only to the government, and cannot sell on the open market. Taxes are eating us alive, and there are many ways for a nation like ours to make money.

I don't think the president should be fired, but I do think the entire Congress and Senate should be fired, and replaced by elected people from the States. This would get rid of the "Old Boys School" that is hell bent on running American into the ground. No Lawyer should be allowed to serve in a government, ever read their secret oath?
www.apfn.org...

It has been reported (source unknown to the writer) that every lawyer in existence and every lawyer coming up has to take a SECRET OATH to support the bankruptcy. This seems to make sense after read about Mr. Sweet's CASE FILE DISAPPEARANCE discussed below. There is more to it. Not only do they promise to support the bankruptcy, but the lawyers and judges also promise never to reveal who the true creditor party is in the bankruptcy proceedings. In court, there is never identification and appearance of the true character and principal of the proceedings. This is where you can get them for not making an appearance in court. If there is no appearance of the true party to the action, than there is no way the defendant is able to know the true NATURE AND CAUSE OF THE ACTION. You are never told the true NATURE AND THE CAUSE OF WHY YOU ARE IN FRONT OF THEIR COURT. The court is forbidden to tell you that information. That's why, if you question the true nature and cause, the judge will say, "It's not my job to tell you. You are not retaining me as an attorney and I can't give you legal advice from the bench. I suggest you hire a lawyer."

I'm for it. It puts state issues back to the state. I.E. Abortion, gun control, same sex marriage, stem cell research etc. Issues that should never be held as a federal responsibility allowed so many officials to get elected.

Thank the gods nevada is getting into this.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a patriot. I served in iraq, and supported the current wars even though I disagreed with them. If the federal government keeps trying to impose more law than it's constitutionally allowed to, i'll be reporting to my governor after I write up a letter to my chain of command.

In my opinion our new commander in chief and even more so the vice president are treasonists going directly against the second amendment.

Now, after all this, if we can only get rid of free trade to bring back industry and jobs to the US.
