At least 700 homes were destroyed in Saturday's inferno when searing temperatures and wind blasts produced a firestorm that swept across a swath of the country's Victoria state, where all the deaths occurred.

This sounds bad. Like the recent fires in California. I know the winds were a big factor in the California fires. I wonder how equipped the Aussies are to battle this. Article says they suspect these were set deliberately. Why are people so thoughtless? Also most hospitals only have a limited amount of capability for dealing properly with burn victems.
