and + they are buying/making more advanced anti-ship/cruise missiles that can destroy american aircraft carrier groups very fast, other then that, chinese military is pretty pathetic, j-10 is nothing new, they should have released it in the 80's

those "babies" are meant to detect such systems from a very long range, and low-signature cruise missiles as well as "stealth" aircraftw hich are becoming more and more useless with the advancment of radar technology.

those "babies" are designed to hit modern and future attack aircraft at a distance of 400 km tactical and strategic aviation jets, cruise and other missiles, they can successfuly fight air targets, manufactured with the use of "stealth" technology at all altitudes of their combat operation and at maximum distances.

Well now this is tricky. Excluding WMD's this is tricky. For the most part probably yes. We do have a stronger economy. Plus we have allies. Now I wonder would Mother Russia get involved. That is tricky because the Kremlin hate us American infidels but they also dislike the Chinese commies. Over all the U.S. is not that disadvantaged. We do have a larger force of tanks, aircraft, and navy. One way to look at this is figure tweak a few things with Russia's respectable military and there you go. Infantry wise China probably has us beat. Vehicle and other wise China's got problems. I would have to say in the long run the Red, White and Blue will come through.

russia has confronted china many times, especially in 1969 over the damansky island and other border disputes, russia kicked chinas ass so hard they scramed away, they also used grad MLRS on them and destroyed about 3000 chinese military.

i thought like this too until i read about how the f22/f23 fires thier missiles and it is ingenius i wont exsplain just look on the eurofighter thing in aircraft forums

naw im serios if u have that many missile sights out how u gona control em ,ur gona need people out there controling them and i doubt that every operator in the PLA is good enough to detect an f23

How is my argument so ridiculous? Because I think that the US would win an air war with China? I believe most people who know anything on the subject would agree with me. Hell, see what China thinks. I have never changed my arguement - I have said all along that the US would dominate the air war, and that a ground war would have to be fought with very uncivilized tactics (aka carpet bombing, blowing up whole cities - disregaurding most "rules" of war). I never said that occupation would be easy or there would be few US men killed.

Exactly - every time one of these systems searches for a target, it gives up it's position. At this point, it is quite easy to take them out. I'd say a few UACV's would do the trick - all without putting a single American in harms way.

It is a very good system though - very good. But it has a weakness that would prove to be it's downfall against US forces.

About 5-6 months ago I read the USA white papers about China(I think that's what it's called). In it basically, was that China should be watched and that China is moving to downsize, but to better equip it's forces. But when I say downsize I don't mean down to a number equal to US military. Also, China has announced that it will increase defence spending drastically. The report made note to say, that Beijing only announced an increase of x dollars, but the real figure is speculated to be higher.

If you all want to read up more on this matter, read Red Dragon Rising by Edward Timperlake and William C. Triplett II. It's a real eye-opener and outlines very well why the Chinese military is to be taken with the utmost caution, no matter how better equipped we are.

Plus, it's written by a conservative extremely pro-U.S./Bush person, so it'll appeal to both sides of the arguement. No "He's an American-hating liberal arguements" will do anyone any good here.
