Homer and Martin highlight the new ATS media site and then discuss the ever increasing job layoffs around the world. Bonuses and Payments at bailed
out banks in the UK gets Homer hot under the collar, and Homer and Martin agree in the end on this one. Then is Russia's offer to the US (to allow
supplies to Afghanistan via their country), part of some payback for their time in Afghanistan? And to end the show, Homer's ranting is back!

Are you serious, audio assasin??
Many of these bankers have causes the problems in the first place with their "deals" and I have little confidence that they can solve the problems
they created.
As Martin said on the show, why should British taxpayers who have bailed out these banks, see this money being used to pay bonuses.
Just look at RDS:
Been given £20bn of tax payers money, posted losses of £8bn and then want to pay bonuses of £1bn.
The Government should step up to the mark and tell the CEOs of the banks that have taken tax payers money:
No bonuses. Full Stop. And if any of these people complain and attempt to take legal action, they should be fired and the Government pass an act of
parliament tp prevent this.

I agree, banks shouldn't give themselves bonuses with our money.
How would we determine if they're giving themselves money with the money our government gives them or not?
That's my issue with this.
I'm against socialism too. Why doesn't the government just use the taxes like how they're supposed to be used?
I wonder when all these other people will wake up to how government intervention is hardly ever a good thing. I've realized that liberals and
conservatives are hypocrites long ago.
I've shifted from the liberal ideology to the libertarian ideology a long time ago. People need to get a clue and realize that the government is
working together against our best interests to control us.
I'm voting independent in 2010. I'm sick of both parties...

No Way! Once a loan of this type is granted there should be specific parameters placed that limit the way the money is used until it has been payed
back to the taxpayers. Once that moment arrives then they can give themselves the bonuses they want. Then the rainmakers or CEO's or whatever they
choose to call themselves can see the repayment as their goal in order to reach their so sought after bonus. Until then, any money spent should be
considered taxpayer money.
In addition, The fact that the money used to "Bailout" the economy is being horded by those who took it and is being used to buy other companies and
whatnot instead of being used to help those in trouble like it was intended.
What a shame. I thought Mexico was the Blatently corrupt, but now I see it has spilled over into the US. Shame on those people.
Shame on them....

Let us not forget that it is NOT just the Bankers..
While the United States voted in the party of higher taxes, the people are all standing around with their hands out waiting on "their" checks..
Incentive .... Yeah Right
So the nation as a whole wants to be spoon fed.
We give our money to the gov. then we stand around wait until they give us back what they figure we should have..

Yes banks should still give out bonus.. The main problem with this equation is the banks being bailed out. Out of what? The demand of a consumer
with no accountability? This is a product of a delusion created by American's with a ridiculous sense of entitlement. The banks did not create this
problem. Your neighbors did.

Hold on. Let me get this right, the banks did not cause this problem, we did? Care to explain your reasoning behind this?
I have NO problem with banks that have not recieved any tax payer funding paying bonuses to their staff. One can question if it is right to pay a
bankers bonuses when 100,000 of people across the world are losing their jobs, but that is another matter.
If a bank, anywhere in the world, has taken money from tax payers, then it should not pay bonuses. What should banks that have failed because of poor
management and taken state aid do this. The staff should be grateful they have jobs. Many of the employees of the bank's customers do not have
jobs!

If your business needs help from the federal government then it isn't successful.
If your business isn't successful, you shouldn't be giving bonuses.
Why do you want to reward incompetents?

Bonuses are typically paid across all level of a banks as part of their package, and are based on their or their department/teams performance.
Certainly in the UK, many are up in arms as banks that have been bailed out by the British tax payer and declared losses, are looking to pay their
staff bonuses.

Why give their staffers bonuses when the economy is in the tanks?
Aren't bonuses incentives for people who do a good job at what they do?
So, people who don't lend money get bonuses?
I don't understand... how about they get paid their salary and then when the economy rebounds then they get their bonuses. They shouldn't be using
tax payers money on casinos or other things...
This is socialism for the rich. It's not good.

Not the banks that are receiving Tax Payer money FI... I think every one agrees they should not get anything above and beyond; we are talking about
the banks that have done well enough to NOT need tax payer money..
Now if you are asking why should they get bonuses? The answer is simple..
It's none of your business, nor is it any of mine. I hate to be blunt, but you SAID I'm against socialism too.
, well if you are truly
against Socialism, then you HAVE to support keeping Government noses out of private owned business...
Can't have it both ways.
If they want to buy each of their employees a private jet, what business is it of anyone, other than the Bank itself.
Now if they do something like that, then come hat in hand to want money; that has to be considered.. But if they want no tax payer money, they can
still, (Currently, but with the current admin and house and senate it could change any day) do whatever they want to in "THEIR" own business.

I guess I agree with you that they shouldn't use taxpayer dollars with our money...

Can't have it both ways.
I just want these multinational corporations to stop outsourcing jobs overseas and for these companies to create jobs. I think they can do it... I
think that's the reason why all these people are crying for socialism... they want for the government to put a stop to this. I would like for these
corporations to care about the people for a change. But I still want my economic freedom...
