This goldfish, named Comet, plays soccer, football, and basketball.
He can even do a 'pole dance'. Yep. Seriously.

Our fish are rather 'smart'. They know exactly where in the tank the food is coming from and at what time of the day. They start huddling at the food point at just about the same time each day.

I don't know if that's 'smart' or if it's basic training.

Either way - fish can do tricks just like other critters.

Alas the site seems to have just pictures. I would love to see a clip of this fish in action.

I thought this was the cutiest thing. I'm wondering if I can train our goldfish. We have two older ones but we also just got two new little ones. It would be fun.

r2fishschool.com...

I had a friend that was telling about this the other day.

I find it rather interesting, but I wonder how long it takes to train/teach them to do the "tricks"?

My question is, how do they remember things for long enough to repeat the trick? I thought (and here's a chance to deny ignorance) that goldfish only had 30-second memories?

I assume this sorta debunks that, yes?

seems fish do have more then a 30 second memory

I'd love to see a video of this rather then just picture though

no, goldfish do not have a 30second memory. that is something we say to make ourselves feel ok about sticking it in a tiny bowl on our counter
