Georgia bank fails: 7th in 2009

money.cnn.com

FirstBank Financial Services based in McDonough, Ga, was closed by state regulators Friday evening, making it the seventh bank to fail so far this year.

FirstBank's four branches will reopen on Monday as Regions Bank, based in Birmingham, Ala., according to federal regulators.

FirstBank's takeover by Regions Bank was the "least costly" option, FDIC said.

If banks continue to fail at a rate of at least one per week, on average, then 2009 could see twice as many failures as in 2008.

Either the banks keep failing, or the government keeps taking them over. Hey, it's either one or the other. For right now I'll go along with they just keep failing.

I wonder if the pace of bank failures will pick up, or continue on at about 1 a week?

Either way, I could use a little apocalypse, so the closer it is the better.

I think some of us do wish the @@@@ hits the fan, I like how you worded it though, GOD could you imagine now having to pay of your student loans, well in best case scenario.

Imagine the world is on fire, people dying everywhere. Then you breathe in a big sigh of relief and know you are not going to have to pay off that debt!!
