All of her children were "created" by using IVF; they were not naturally conceived.

She is a single mother; the "father" is a sperm donor.

She has had a total of 14 children by IVF, lives with her mother, has no job, has no means of supporting the 14 children she "just couldn't stop" having.

All of her children are younger than 7....all 14 of them.

And, we are the crazy ones for seeing a slight problem with this???

There is speculation out there that Nadya Suleman has been grooming herself for fame for quite a while now. It's speculated that she has had lip enhancement surgery and rhinoplasty.

I kept staring at her face while she spoke and her face had this artificial look to it. Nothing wrong with a bit of cosmetic surgery, but with 14 kids to feed she may consider putting more of it on the backburner for the next 18 years.

I notice that the media are pretty much just accepting her word as fact. Nadya says she is doing a Masters degree, Nadya says she was a cheerleader, Nadya says the father's name is David Solomon and just a friend, but in fact she changed her last name to Solomon a few years ago because she said it sounded better.

The nose and mouth do look a little off.

Cosmetic surgery is fine, but this woman has other things to worry about.

Where is all this money coming from?? Numerous IVF treatments, caring for multiple children (one with autism), schooling, medical bills, etc.? The more I read about this woman, the more questions pop up.

Nobody said you were crazy for believing anything.

All I said was lay off her man. The Media wants you to get mad at this. And here you are, getting mad at it.

Why so serious?

I don't think it's possible for her to be able to defend this adequately.
Nor the doctor that took part in this.
As for her stories ... she's either telling lies or delusional .. or both.
Not a good situation for those poor little children.

The media does not influence me; I do actually have a brain, common sense, and intelligence. I can make up my own mind about a situation. The day I can't think on my own without any outside influence is the day someone needs to put me in a home.

And, this situation is serious. We are talking about 14 children who have no father and a mother with a questionable mental make-up. A lot of us are honestly worried about these children.

I have a separate worry centered around what actually goes on at these fertitility clinics. Do they screen their clients? Do the clients undergo mandatory psychological examinations before proceeding to the implant procedure? Can anyone with money just have as many embryos implanted? Do the doctors and nurses and specialists in these clinics just do whatever the client wants....even when said client is a young, relatively healthy, single mother who already has 6 kids from IVF and is now back for 8 more by IVF??

There is more to this than just letting the woman breed to her heart's content. Medical ethics are involved. Medical standards are involved. The health and well-being of those 14 children is involved. The money needed to properly provide for those children is involved.

Here is a new twist on the story an online blog has suggested that Nadya Suleman seems to have an obsession with Angelina Jolie. The blog supports it's theory with the obvious - the addiction with kids, but more interestingly is that Nadya seemed to have had worked done to look more like her idol. I think they may have a point. Please click on the link below as I don't know how to post a picture directly.

I read today that she had 6 implanted so there are two sets of twins in those 8 births. She had six and went for six more. But it makes no difference - if she went for 6 or 8 - she already had six and had no father and no means to support those she had.

So she had babies so she would be loved.
Lots of women do that.
Does anyone know if these and her other children were carried to term.
She is pretty and it seems that she is flaunting that and using it, therefore would want to maintain her body. Perhaps some cosmetic surgery there?''
Is she just younger than or really prettier than her role model?
A pretty face an congenial personality can take you a long, long way in this world.

As to her mental/psychological state - well, for a change, I must say that I do not agree with you all that she is psycho. You wouldn't be jealous now would you?

She seems to know what she is doing and I wish her success.
So far none of the multiple births that have made the news have resulted in baby food or baby ware contracts.
I haven't seen such since the Dion quints. Yes, I know they were truly different in that they were identical.

Her face IMO looks swollen. She could be just retaining fluids. (She did just give birth to 8 babies) Also, some people don't need injections to get Angelina Jolie lips. (I know since I have them LOL) Then again, she may be some weirdo who wants to be just like Angelina Jolie. Who really knows? Should we condemn her simply because she resembles a famous person?

As for the kids, yes, I share the concern others here have and I agree that something did seem off in how she spoke. Almost like it was well rehearsed. The thing is, my concerns are based on the limited knowledge we are getting from the media. Who knows what else was said in that interview that might change our opinion of her and that is key, we don't know all the facts.

The facts we do have are, she had the money to do the procedures, she choose not to selectively abort any when she found out about the large number of babies and she has broken no law. Some may disagree with her choices, some may think she is mental, but until she does something that is illegal, do any of us have any right to tell her what she can do in the privacy of her home?

Also, had this woman been married, had she had a spouse to support her, would people still be as upset or would we be all gaga over them like the Dilly Sextuplets?

That's just creepy.

I am now off the fence and firmly on the side of this woman having some serious psychological problems.

I am not going to be so self-righteous that these children suffer.

Sometimes being "right" is wrong.

I hope she and the children get ALL the help they need - including counseling.

These babies and the other 6 children have done nothing wrong.

It's nice to see that she was able to not only afford 14 babies through IVF in some yet unknown financially weirdo way while not working and going to school, but she managed to also be able to afford excessive lip collagen injections.

Like I said in another thread...I'm not playing this game right. My 8-5, 5 day/week job just isn't paying like her deal.

From what I read, this scam artist made $165,000 in disability, thus far.
That is probably how she paid for it.

Edit: found link...

Among other things, they reveal that Suleman collected more than $165,000 in disability payments between 2002 and 2008 for the work injury, which she said left her in near-constant pain and helped end her marriage.

During a hearing on her case in December 2001, Suleman said pregnancy aggravated her back condition. She said she spent most of the day in bed and was unable to care for her first child, according to a report by workers' compensation judge Jerome Bulavsky.

After examining her in August, Dr. Steven Nagelberg attributed 90 percent of her condition to the work incident and 10 percent to her pregnancy.

news.yahoo.com...

So, let me get this straight - she can not work and draws disability for physical issues (near constant pain) - yet she can carry around 8 babies inside of her and go thru labor? WTF?

I have one child and was on bed rest for 3 months and I had no dissabilities!

She is a scam artist and an attention *&%$ IMO.

I would cry foul about this but it's become all too apparent that this is the norm now.

It's unbelievable because this is an obvious rip-off of the system.

How do people get away with it and more importantly, don't people have a conscience anymore?

Eww.. Honestly when I first saw her today - this is exactly what came to mind. Someone who is trying to be Jolie. I hope I am wrong and I hope she gets help.
Now!

When I saw the interview, I thought, "Cuckoo, cuckoo!" Be able to provide for them after she gets her degree??!! Hell, right now, there're plenty of college educated of any degree losing their job!

OTOH I can recall conversations with immigrants who were told that, literally, the streets of America were paved with gold, and they believed it. Did she believe that anything is possible in America? Of course, once the immigrants got here, they found it no where near the stories they were told.

This is what you get when you live in a society where medical science is governed by profit and doctors get to operate for capital.. you get situations where things are not not for ethical or logical reasons, but for profit.

Those poor children
A mentally ill mother, poverty and a bad environment dooms them to suffering. Hopefully she will self-destruct and they can be found a decent home.

This woman is 33 years old.

She isn't a young thing in her 20s. If she was young, I'd give her a little bit of slack for being naive and unrealistic.

I also think that she learned how to use the system while working at the fertility clinic and found all the loop holes.

She already had 6 kids and didn't finish her degree.
So how will she get the chance to finish with 14 kids?
And even then, she wants to work as a councellor.
I don't know of many councellors who earn enough to support 14 kids on their own.

If she's expecting public handouts then good luck.
The country is BANKRUPT so I hope she knows how to grow her own vegetables and raise her own livestock to feed all those kids.

And if she gets a Million dollars from the publicity, it isn't going to last 18 years to get 14 kids to independent age.
