Last January, aiming to increase the size of his sideyard, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.
I remember that guy!

Can you tell me what company would lend obama 104 grand for land?
I've heard of these financial institutions called Banks that lend money from time to time. Maybe he went to one of those?

I see your source for this statement and I appreciate that, but it would help if you didn't misquote it. Here's an example:
YOU are telling me that "they" said 'he couldn't rent a CAR his credit was so bad,' but in reality, THEY said 'the rental car company rejected
his credit card.' Nobody said anything about his credit rating, just that his credit card was rejected/declined. This would make a lot of sense
considering earlier in the article reads that his bank accounts (political and personal) were empty. I would assume then that his credit card would be
maxed out.

So what job do you know a unemployed senator can get that he can make 104 grand in 4 years?
4 year's prior he couldn't even get a rent a car .
I would love to hear it.
Obama had just lost a congressional bid, that is why he was broke. That is why he couldn't rent a car, because he JUST spent all his money on a
failed campaign. BUT just because he lost the election doesn't mean he was unemployed in 2000.
In
fact, during that year, Obama served
-in the Illinois Senate from 1996-2004 when he became a US Senator
-as a professor at the University of Chicago Law School teaching Constitutional Law. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004.
-as counsel for Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, a twelve-attorney law firm specializing in civil rights litigation and neighborhood economic
development from 1996 to 2004.
-on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago from 1994-2002
-on the board of directors of the Joyce Foundation from 1994-2002
-on the board of directors of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995-2002
Do you want a
cherry on top?
Obama's tax returns for 2000 state an Annual Gross Income of $240,505. Returns for 2001 have an AGI of $272,759. So there you have it, he wasn't
broke, he was making plenty of money! He was a state Senator on numerous boards and even did consulting for a pretty large law firm.
Sooo you see, even though he spent all his money in a failed Congressional bid, he had a steady and healthy income which goes a long, long way when
you're talking about whether or not you can repay a loan.

me.
Well, 2 years ago I was working 12 hour days at a dead-end job that didn't appreciate me for what I was. My wife was pregnant and not working, and we
were about 3 weeks late on our rent because we had poured all of our money into a failed attempt at an ECommerce store on the internet. I remember the
day I quit that job was when they told me they were taking away my health insurance because my pregnant wife was costing too much for the company and
since I was the only one with a pregnant wife, they figured the majority wouldn't mind, which turned out to be right. I came home that day and my
wife started crying! It was the lowest point of my life.
About 20 minutes later, the phone rang. My wife had submitted my resume' to ONE company without me knowing, and they called. I talked to the lady for
45 minutes and then found out that I was overqualified for the position. Out of curiosity, I asked how much the position paid. It was over 10k more
than I was making at the job I just quit, so I said I would be happy to take a demotion in exchange for the position.
Two years later I am the ECommerce Marketing Manager and am making 60% more than when I started. My benefits are huge and i'm in one of the few
industries that will not only not be affected by the down economy, but we'll actually surpass previous years fiscally. I have been able to accomplish
a HUGE amount for my field in a very short time due to my unique situation at this company, and the fact that i'm a natural at my job. Now i'm
looking at job offers for twice what i'm making now in New York, Seattle and Chicago.
So it can totally happen. Life is like AA. It works if you work it.
