What amazed me most "The submarine moved into deeper waters but was tracked by an anti-submarine helicopter
, cornered and forced to surface. The submarine had been trailing the Chinese ships since they entered the Indian Ocean on its way to the Gulf of Aden,"

Is it some kind of treasure hunt going on above and under sea ????

I think the most stupid thing about this story is.
That India gets its subs from China.
So of course just another made up load of junk.

They weren't junks, they were destroyers.
So if they go to war and go nuclear and wipe each other off the face of the earth...
do we get our call centres back?

I would like to know how a helicopter can 'corner' a submarine?

It's not like the bloody thing can dive underwater and bully it into a corner...

Good find OP starred and flagged,
I don't know what they are all doing out there but it sure don't seem they are on a anti-piracy mission. I have no idea whats going on in the Gulf of Aden, but one thing is for sure, we are not been told the truth once more.

No, but you can light it up with sonar and drop a couple of depth charges just to get their attention...the rest follows.

And that much I know, just from the movies...who knows what high-tech applications might apply.

Hmm why would they be in a standoff? I can't concieve of a casus belli.

Perhaps they were both trying to apprehend a pirate ship, and started getting hostile over who got to make the "arrest"?

Or maybe that sub was just trailing the Chinese ships as SOP. Pretty poor tactics to have been detected by a helicopter though...
