The easiest way to get around this issue is to order parts and put the PCs together yourself. If you don't have the knowledge base to do this, invest $50 in an A+ hardware training book and spend a weekend reading.

I just put together a new desktop last week for $230. If I had bought an equivalent model from one of the major manufacturers...I've found prices ranging from $600-$800 for a comparable setup.
