Air Force Refused to Fly Missing Nukes to Middle East
WMR has learned from U.S. and foreign intelligence sources that the B-52
transporting six stealth AGM-129 Advanced Cruise Missiles, each armed with a W-80-1 nuclear warhead, on August 30, were destined for the Middle East via Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.

It is now apparent that the command and control breakdown, reported as a BENT SPEAR incident to the Secretary of Defense and White House, was not the result of a command and control chain-of-command "failures" but the result of a revolt and push back by various echelons within the Air Force and intelligence agencies against a planned U.S. attack on Iran using nuclear and conventional weapons.
The /Washington Post/ story on BENT SPEAR may have actually been an effort in damage control by the Bush administration. The training has been ongoing since January 27 and involves “the use of military helicopters flying after dark throughout the city,” according to an Associated Press report.Residents were warned “not to panic” if they witnessed the training and were assured that the activities had “been carefully planned and are safe”. However, initial reports before the exercises began claimed that the training would only involve police, when in fact 150 U.S. troops from the U.S. Special Operations Command are also involved as part of urban warfare training. Residents described hearing low flying helicopters and even bombs during the course of last night. “I heard a bunch of explosions starting at about 10 p.m. They were about ten seconds apart, and then they’d stop, and we thought it was over, but then they started again,” said Gigi Burk. The exercises are scheduled to end on February 8.

The city of Denver was recently invaded by a large number of military helicopters without any sort of warning given to the general public. It was originally speculated that this training exercise had something to do with the upcoming Democratic National Convention, but a spokesman with Special Operations said that it wasn’t related and that the exercises would last all week. It is interesting that this spokesman said it had nothing to do with the upcoming DNC. If that’s the case, than what is the real purpose of this exercise? They are selling this exercise as an anti-terror drill, but in reality it has nothing to do with stopping terrorism. The terror war has been proven to be a fraud time and time again so it certainly isn’t about fighting the terrorists. As painful as it is to say, the true purpose of the federal government flying military helicopters around Denver without any sort of notification to the public is part of a plan to socially engineer people to the reality of a militarized police state. The Denver Daily News reported on this situation and asked why the public wasn’t informed in advance that these military helicopters would be flying around. The article is largely a white wash of the situation, but it is incredible how the local government spins this military exercise as something that will actually benefit the local community . There are the deaths, the coincident nuke fuses sent to Taiwan, and the utter failure of multiple levels of protocol and security, including electronic surveillance.

I really don't want to believe any of this stuff. The dominant hypothesis says the Bush Administration hawks masterminded this failed attempt to rain nuclear hell down by proxy on Iran, and there was push back from some in the military establishment.
What I like about this is that part of the story speaks to some in the military being righteous and true. I want to believe that part. Give me more of that. But I do not like the idea that only a very small pool of humans could ever be POTUS, and somehow even this select group can contain men who would be tyrants and monsters.
How would this work? It could only work if POTUS were told that he can do anything he wants to do, and they mean it, or else "they" (meaning advisors, joint chiefs, etc) were looking for this quality in the first place.

Ok first, the impossibility of losing nukes...in my opinion, the word impossibility should have the quotes. Nothing is impossible, especially when you add that human element.
I know all about 4210 and what not. The two person concept is incredibly important for safety and security but it has been broken before. Two cops broke it in the field and 2 2M0's broke; both in the years I was there. The strict chain of command is in place too but people do get complacent or simply ignore things all the time, why is it impossible that it would happen in a sensitive AFSC? And as for the PRP program, which I know plenty about, it isn't an absolute protector. Sure if someone loses sanity, blacks out, takes drugs, or becomes a severe alcoholic, the PRP program will remove them...the thing is someone has to step forward and recognize the issues and man up and say, 'he I probably shouldn't be working on this weapon"

Although technically I was under the 5th Bomb Wing, I worked mostly with the 91st Space Wing. The weapons in the incident were ACM's. Those are all controlled by the 5th Munitions Squadron and the 2M0's of the Space Wing have nothing to do with them so his death, while sad, had nothing to do with this.
