I was wondering how members came by their user name. For example why is cadbury called cadbury? Does he like chocolate-what is wrong with Nestle, is somethingbeautiful really beautiful, spudclucker- hens and chickens? Deltaalphanovember- Is your name Dan?
Please explain why you are called what you are called.

I'm rarely on BTS (ATS is my homebase), so it's doubtful that you even recognize me. Even so, I'll try to summarize the meaning of my username: I lurked around ATS for a while before I decided to join and the political forums were of the greatest interest to me. I thought the idea of paper planes, themselves innocuous toys, contrasted well with the militant, often gruesome nature of the subject I am so fond of studying. The comparison between paper planes and fighter jets brought me to my username choice.

Why did you choose "Boomer the dog"?

When I see your username, I always envision a goldfish in a little fish bowl going "Blup...blup.".

I've had too much caffeine and am acting strange again. My apologies.

I got my user name by a derrogitory remark made by MrPenny in a thread about somebody haveing "Enthralled Fans."

I figured it fit, since I am Enthralled with the site!

Once again, thanks, MrPenney, and where are you?

I wish it was something deep and meaningful, but it ain't.

Everyone just calls me Carrot... like the Orange Vegetable.

I agree man.... we are all in a goldfish bowl and that is one of two reasons i chose it

I don't mind whatever people take from it is cool....i wanted it as generic and bland as possible really.

Cheers,

Mine just sort of popped into my . whilst trying to think of a username. But for the sake of ego and my own sense of self-importance I'll say that I travel in the dark because that's where they hide the light.

Excellent thread! I've often wondered the same thing about other users.

I go by Paul, but that sounds so common...

I got the idea while registering to play Star Wars Jedi Academy online, and it has stuck ever since. I really don't think the name actually fits my personality though. You obviously think of Apollo when you read it, and Apollo was the god...

...of prophecy and oracles, healing, plague and disease, music, song and poetry, archery, and the protection of the young. He was depicted as a handsome, beardless youth with long hair and various attributes including:--a wreath and branch of laurel; bow and quiver; raven; and lyre.

If I could, I would simply go by "Paul", but it's taken.

YIKES! Out of curiosity, I found a personality test, and much to my disappointment, it said that Apollo matched. Whatever! Apollo was an arrogant womanizer.

Er. I came up with mine several years before joining ATS.
Runes were cool, spiders were cool.

A lot of folks tend to divide it up like a actual name, and I've had people refer to me offline by my nick here. So I guess it's a pretty good one.
I like it, however, cause it contrasts with me pretty well.
It seems like something a moody teenager would have, or a new age hippy.
I take pride in being a country boy, who has a cheerful outlook on life and is fairly pragmatic on my outlook on life.
