I think the Biggest mistake our government has EVER made was giving big companies/corporations, the same rights as individual US citizens/taxpayers!

I agree that corporations are the problem.
In fact, our government has become :

Of the Corporations
By the Corporations
For the Corporations

With the exception of a few decent members of Congress, such as Ron Paul, virtually every member of Congress is OWNED by the corporations.
Once elected, they can't wait to get their hands in the cookie jar of the US treasury for their corporate masters.
