Secret Israeli Database Reveals Full Extent of Illegal Settlements
This is a very long and detailed article well worth reading.

The official database, the most comprehensive one of its kind ever compiled in Israel about the territories, was recently obtained by Haaretz. Here, for the first time, information the state has been hiding for years is revealed. An analysis of the data reveals that, in the vast majority of the settlements - about 75 percent - construction, sometimes on a large scale, has been carried out without the appropriate permits or contrary to the permits that were issued. The database also shows that, in more than 30 settlements, extensive construction of buildings and infrastructure (roads, schools, synagogues, yeshivas and even police stations) has been carried out on private lands belonging to Palestinian West Bank residents.

The UN has long called for the end to Illegal settlements in the Palestinian occupied Territories and this confirms that Israel was well aware of their illegality, sometimes even knowingly building on Private Palestinian land.

Its what has been known all along...its nice to have the evidence though. I just wonder how it will be used. I wonder if TPTB will brush it under the carpet as usual.

It seems as though an Israeli based Human Rights group is contacting the Palestinian property owners and is going to file a number of law suits over this.

Not all Israelis are for the total extermination of Palestinians. There were groups of Jews within Israel, as well as around the globe, who have protested against Israeli aggression in recent weeks in Gaza. Nice to see that some in Israel have chosen to bring this information forward to address the illegality of the settlements.
