DES MOINES, Iowa - The ranking GOP member of the Senate Finance Committee wants Congress to reconsider new funding to the National Science Foundation amid allegations that top staffers spent long stretches of their day surfing the Internet for pornography.

Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, sent a letter to the foundation's Office of Inspector General on Tuesday seeking all documents it has related to the inappropriate use of the foundation's networ

Don't you think in this day and age, the National Science Foundation would have some IT guy put website blockers on it's intranet???

If I even try to go to restricted (by my company) websites, I could be fired. According to the report, one senior staff member spent as much as 20 percent of his time during a two-year period at lurid sites and in sexually explicit chat rooms. That time cost taxpayers more than $40,000, the report stated.

The lack of oversight here is simply unacceptable.

Things are so beyond the point of crazy here.. We are paying these guys to watch porn. Spending 1,400$ for trash cans.. Ect ect..
The list could go on and on..
I wonder how much of our money is used buying these guys escorts and prime rib dinners.. Sports cars, private jets!

While this doesnt shock me.. I'm numb to the amount of crooks we have elected as our leaders. Shameful...
