Is this just a rumour

I have been told my someone I totally trust that they have heard from someone 'in the know' that the uk government is putting together plans to check out what everone has in way of stocks - under the guise of being worried what people in uk are eating and fear that they are not eating healthily. So plan to send people to homes of the general populos - not sure if its meant everyone to check out what they have in cupboards.......

Anyone heard anything about this as truth or urban myth???????????

Wouldn't that be rather dangerous and stupid to send people into homes of people they don't know?

They certainly wouldn't get in to my house... or perhaps I'd have some fun with them... pretend i was eating a human hand or something...

It might actually be what they say.

Kind of a census of sorts in regards to consumables. Knowing what the most popular items are might help make for more efficient farming policies and less wasted crops due to buying trends.

I'm betting it's benign.
