Rain has helped extinguish a blaze in Milton's historic district this morning that has heavily damaged an entire city block. Advertisement The fire was reported at 6:50 p.m. in the 6800 block of Caroline Street. The fire started in a small building behind the theater and spread to the Mudd Pitt, a coffee shop, said a Santa Rosa County spokeswoman Joy Tsubooka.

www.pnj.com...

It should be noted, that when I searched for this story it pulled up the Milton, Maryland homepage instead of the Milton, Florida story.

Yes. Milton, Florida is less well known than Milton, Maryland. Yeesh.

Anyway, I think at times like this we need a "Local News" section.

Not much more to say than what's in the article. It was a big deal for the people who worked in it, which included some of my friends. I really appreciate the work that goes into restoring old buildings, it saves a bit of history.

The computer store I used to work at is getting the job for replacing all of the computers that were destroyed in the fire at the Insurance company.

Also, because of a earlier thread I found out I had some pictures from the museum that burned as well.
Only a couple, I'm afraid.

Personal favorite here:

That, is a cool hat. Hope it survived.

Relevant to the site, there was a old book from the Santa Rosa Lodge #16 in one of the displays, with a membership list. Didn't think to grab a photo of it at the time. Just thought it was kinda cool.
