I started to look at how the "stimulus" money was going to be spent and am having a hard time justifying this.
$43 billion to extend unemployment benefits.
That will just keep people poor. It doesn't stimulate anything.
$20 billion increase in welfare benefits.
Just keeps poor people poor.
$40 billion to subsidize health care for unemployed.
Stimulates insurance companies that offer COBRA
$87 billion for Medicaid
$41 billion in grants to local schools.
$16 billion to boost Pel Grants
My opinion is that not enough is being spent on projects that will generate actual jobs. I'm having doubts about this level of spending with the
details that are offered in the article.
