Howard Stern isn't the only one...

ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- Clear Channel Communications fired two radio station hosts Friday for broadcasting sexual dialogue during a commercial.

Larry Wachs and Eric Von Haessler, also known as "The Regular Guys" in their show on Atlanta radio station WKLS-FM, aired a skit on March 19 called "backward smut," which involved recording a pornography star talking explicitly, then playing her voice backward over the air.

The hosts left a microphone on after the prank, however, causing listeners to hear sexual talk during a commercial. Wachs blamed "technical difficulties," and Clear Channel Communications, which owns the station, said at the time the prank appeared to be an accident.

www.cnn.com...
Clear Channel Vice President Pat McDonnell announced the end of the show Friday because of violations of a "zero-tolerance" indecency policy. Clear Channel is the nation's largest radio chain.

Are we missing something bigger here, while we mostly agree that the FCC is out of control and our "freedom of speech" is being attacked, could it be that they're really after Clear Channel & that Stern and "company" are the fall guys ?

little kids watch TV too, and go to movies and so on & so on...

it's a cycle it never ends, if they're going to take actions agianst one, they should take actions agains all or just shut up.

There's another thread I started here at ATS, did you know that BET is starting an uncensored program, showing videos ? it's not right ! But they won't get in trouble... will they ?

How is he better off not being on those channels ?

I think that he needs all of the fans he can get right now.

They are not firing these people because they are worried about the kids who might hear. They are heavily invested in the Republican National Committee and George Bush, so Clear Channel has to do whatever it can to make them, and their policies, look good to the station's audience. See this thread for an illustration of their entanglement with Bush and the RNC.
