Looking at Google Earth just now and checked out the north Pole area. On my screen the view up there is all blue water. Iceland is covered with white but up North there looks to be all water.
Check it out and see if you see snow and ice?? The South Pole looks normal,
whatever normal is down there.

That is because the idea is not to show the ice, it's to show the Earth, so they show the ocean on the North pole and Antarctica on the South pole.

I am sure that if you look at the northern countries you will not see the ice and snow coverage that have now, Google images are not real time (and not even close to that, some areas that I know have not been updated for 3 years)

Oh, Thanks.....I didn't know that updating GE was that far behind. I use the free download version, just to look around at places I'll never be able to go to in person.
